Let's end the confusion about MJ's unreleased tracks here

I remember this snippet popped up shortly before the Michael album released, and none of us could determine whether or not it was authentic given the lack of clear vocals. Crazy to listen to it now and know that it’s the real deal.

I’d love to hear later versions. If I’m not mistaken, Neff-U took a crack at it in 2008-09.
God I remember them days haha. Nobody believed this was real at all

I really like DBMR, it's a charming, breezy, laid back demo. There's not a lot of Mike's songs like that, hopefully the later versions are more complete buy keep that vibe intact

The Estate should always use the most up-to-date version of the songs they have instead of picking an old version without a single care. They already released DBMR so now there's no way we'll ever get the later versions of it unless it leaks. I'm hoping mainly that they release the April 2009 version of GOAL instead of the version that leaked, if the Estate gets around to releasing it.

It's so funny to me how a lot of songs were made for/during Victory; The Freddie Mercury tracks, Chicago 1945, Buffalo Bill, Liberian Girl, Another Part Of Me, Dirty Diana, Dream Away. It's the most effort MJ has ever put on a The Jacksons album lol.
Abortion Papers also

100% OR the best version.

I really do not understand why The Estate stopped the STTR feat. Justin Bieber version. - It would have been great promotion for Xscape.
The version is more like a dance/house remix more upbeat and would do great on clubs and discos.

Why would they stop it? - It would not ruin anything for the Xscape album, quite contrary I think it would have been great promotion helping the album.

Agreed. It’s my favourite version of the song, much more current. I don’t know, maybe Justin was going through his little shit phase at the time?

I’m surprised by the lack of leaks we have from the HIStory era; is there any reason for this?
Around 40 tracks were worked on but there's little to no unreleased music outside of Much Too Soon.....whatever didn't make HIStory ended up on BOTDF.....working on 40 doesn't mean recording 40 songs......most of it is probably grooves.

I for one wouldn’t want Bieber anywhere near Michael’s music. If you’re going to do posthumous duets, it should be with people that Michael actually worked with.

This was not as a duet or an album song. - It was a remix version of an album song featuring Justin Bieber. - Nothing more... - released as a single to Spotify and radio etc.

I still find it appalling. Bieber has got nothing to do with Michael’s music, so he shouldn’t be let anywhere near it.

Didn’t Bieber sing on it? That would make it a duet. Inasmuch they didn’t remove Michael’s vocals altogether, in which case it is a crime that should be punishable with whipping.

Here's why I agree with Casey on the matter

Under I have listed 56 songs which we know exist, and we know have vocals. Some have more or less than others. (dates aren't precise)

I haven't even counted demos for already known songs, different versions, which may sound very different. Like Someone Put Your Hand Out demo or Speed Demon demo. Perfect examples. You could include at least 1-2 demos/different version of a song on an album for example. The possibilities are many with these projects.

And the list doesn't even include a lot of songs we know have been talked about like some Rodney, Babyface, Akon and Will.I.Am. songs. Heck, even Bryan Loren have some. And there are probably songs we do not even know about, like Dream Away sudden appearance

Alright Now (1980s)
There Must Be More To Life Than This (1983)
State Of Shock (W Freddie) (1983)
Victory (1983)
Hotstreet/Slapstick (1982)
Nite Line (1983)
Don't Matter To Me Demo (1980)
Deep in The Night (1989)
Groove Of Midnight (1985)
Throwin' Your Life Away (1985)
Ghost of Another Lover (1990)
Seven Digits (1990)
Don't Believe It (1990)
Men In Black (1990)
Serious Effect (1990)
She Got It (1990)
If You Don't Love Me (1990)
Work That Body (1990)
Happy Birthday Lisa (1991)
Faces (1994) (yes, it's a speech with instrumental, but I think it can still be released, as an interlude for example. Very powerful piece.
We Be Ballin' (1998)
Family Thing/Family Values (1993)
Elizabeth, I Love You (1997)
Seeing Voices (1999)
Days in Gloucestershire (2004)
People Of The World (1998)
Children's Holiday (1997)
Hollywood Tonight Demo (1999+2008)
I Am (Was) A Loser (2003)
Can't Get Your Weigh Off Of Me (2000)
What More Can I Give (Solo) (1998)
Hot Fun In The Summertime (1998)
Adore You (2004) (no lead vocals, but they might exist, even without, I think we should all witness it)
Be Me 4 A Day (1987 +)
Buffalo Bill (1983)
Changes (1985 + 1994) demo or mixed with both demos)
Crack Kills (1985)
Dark Lady AKA H2O (2008)
Don't Make Me Stay (some vocals) (2000s)
I'm Dreamin (2006) (some vocals)
Monster (1998)
I Have This Dream (2004 - John Barnes version)
Remember What I Told You (2008)
Rocker (2000s)
Saturday Woman (1991) (some vocals)
Tomboy (1985)
Water (2009)
What You Do To Me (1985 version)
Joy (1991)
Hollywood Tonight (1999 + 2008) (with all of the unreleased vocals)
Michael’s Affirmation with Photographs (2003)
She Don't Love Me (2008)
Innocent Man (1994 +2008) (chorus vocals)
You Were There (1989)
Make Or Break (1985)
Turning Me On (1986)

I know a lot of you will dismiss many of these titles as releasable. But I am just saying that if done correctly, and if they are willing to release them, we are looking at 5-6 albums with 8-10 tracks on each. Or projects like era focused projects (anniversary, celebrations, etc.) with demos of already released songs + unreleased songs from the sessions. They don't even need to put out albums with 8-10 tracks. They could do 4-6 with footage/videos related to the songs/sessions, or whatever. Include people who actually worked on them (which is getting too late soon because they are all passing away from age and whatnot)

And again, there are still more songs out there like I mentioned in the beginning of the post. I am probably one of the more optimistic fans when it comes to this. But do I believe The Estate will dig, research, find, contact, and do what they can in order to get these out there somehow? No, I don't

Honestly, the only thing that's slightly questionable (in terms of its existence) is the "adult version" of I'll Be There (at most it was recorded for the '92 Pepsi commercial rather than in '89). But other than that, everything (with the exception of Michael's Affirmation due to it never being intended for release) is perfectly releaseable in the way you detailed it.

Also, Lisa, It’s Your Birthday is not unreleased, but featured on Songs in the Key of Springfield (Rhino, 1997).

You're right about I'll Be There. It might exist, Mike might have recorded one for the 30th anniversary as a backup, but aren't too sure). I just switched it now with I Have This Dream (2004/2005 version which has MJ vocals)

Michael's version is not released, was leaked along with the other Loren tracks back in the day

Some people wish the MJ Estate would do this.

It's me. I am people

I was thinking more the Pink Floyd / Dark Side of the Moon box set. But I get your point.

N.B. Before anyone points out that there isn't enough material (probably) in Michael's vault for this sort of thing, this is a cheerful, meaningless joke! That is all.

I don’t know if I want any more reissues. I understand wanting to give certain albums their time in the sun, but they’re inordinately expensive and unless they’re truly extensive, I don’t always feel like they’re worth the money. Bad 25 is arguably the estate’s finest hour in total, but even that doesn’t totally justify its price.

Unless it comes with a disc of unreleased tracks, a disc of album demos and alternate cuts, great packaging, and some sort of hardcover book or mini-booklet with new photos and whatnot, reissues aren’t really worth it imo. I’d rather a new album.

That's why I think it's better to do smaller projects with unreleased music like every 2nd year or so. Not only do we get new content often, but that way, it will always keep the fans on their toes waiting for the next thing. It will also help Michael's legacy, sales, new fans, etc. generated (even though we know Michael's legacy which he left is enough, that's something most of us are clear on).
Mike has been gone for so long and The Estate has been weak ever since. So in my opinion, we don't need "huge" music projects every 5-6th year or so anymore.

Tbh nothing will make a dent because streaming is the way of the future. All future bundles have to make sense on Spotify more so than just buying on CD.

and in the titles on the 2009 MJ lists of songs, there are some we don't have informations about : Breath, I Am That One, You Were There, Lonely Bird, Can't Stop Loving You, Too Late To Turn Back, Everybody Wants To Be A Moviestar, Leaving Today to Behin.
And we have no more informations about You Are So Beautiful, the 2005 song dedicated to fans

So i strongly believe to the important vault

It was written "vocals" under the song's name on that note in his bedroom so I guess it's safe to say that the song doesn't have vocals/lead vocals.

I would love for Michael Prince to give us more details about the songs from that era, even with Damien's info they're still very mysterious songs. I would love for him to tell us how much MJ advanced on GOAL, TYLA, Beautiful Girl and such; what was the third song that MJ finished recording at the Bel-Air Hotel; What was the last new song MJ recorded; how do the songs that were written on his bedroom notes which aren't registered sound like (I Am That One, Can't Stop Loving You, Love Heals, etc). God, there's still SO many questions.
