The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

I wish we had more information on the demos between Thriller and Bad like Loving You or Al Capone
The best sources of info for this time are going to be Matt Forger and Bill Bottrell. John Barnes also, but he recently passed.

I think Damien Shields did interview Forger and Barnes, so there might be some more info in the book he wrote.

I think Damien already did. I haven't been able to read his most recent edition of his book yet. I do know some unreleased songs were talked about. What You Do To Me was one of them.

Yep he said What You Do to Me has vocals/lyrics and is similar to Free and I'm So Blue

I recently looked through the registered songs on ascap and found some songs that I don't think have been discussed in this thread yet.

Kreeton Overture

Pray For Peace

Promise

Slipped Away

Stay

Thank Heaven

And I also found an old list of unreleased songs. It listed songs I never heard of before. They could be easily made up, but maybe someone here knows anything about them.

Secret Passage
Vibrationist
Stop The War
Belong 2
Bad Girl
Do You Want Me
This Is Our Time
Edgar Allan Poe
Far Far Away

Promise co-written with Teddy Riley sounds promising (pardon the pun) I'd not heard of that one before, hopefully it's complete.
Nice find mate

Kreeton Overture is an Instrumental Intro for Victory Tour

“Kreeton Overture” is the Victory Tour intro.

“Pray for Peace” is an anomaly. Joe Vogel originally said it was from 2002-2003, but I’ve yet to see evidence confirming as such. I believe this was also the rumored title “All in Your Name,” but I may be mistaken.

“Promise” is one I spotted a year or so ago. Very interested in it.

“Slipped Away” is, if I recall correctly, a Triumph outtake.

“Stay” is a Bryan Loren collaboration from the Dangerous sessions. No clue on its completion.

“Thank Heaven” is from the Invincible sessions. The version registered with the US Copyright Office features a session vocalist and a full choir, and MJ appears with a spoken word intro dedicating the song to Prince. It was on the list of songs he wanted to continue working on in London.

“Stop the War” is the early version of “We’ve Had Enough,” if I’m not mistaken.

“Secret Passage,” “Belong 2,” “Do You Want Me,” “This Is Our Time,” and “Edgar Allan Poe” don’t exist. They’re rumored titles that have been circulating since the dawn of MJJC.

“Bad Girl” is from early 1986.

“Far, Far Away” was cited in MJ’s 1993 deposition. It allegedly has vocals, though Chris Cadman emphasized that the amount and their completion is up for debate.

And titles from the Bad sessions keep popping up still.
Jesus, just give us a complete boxset of Bad in the style of the Sign O The Times one and don't discard them even if they're incomplete.
I've said it before but I'll say it again - realistically speaking they're never going to make a boxset, but they could very well make more Bad re-issues while still saving the best, most complete songs for other albums. They still have tons of options available that could make for great tracklists.

Slipped Away seems like it could've been a demo or working title for Time Waits For No One.

Or it could be an entirely different song, don't know. Thought Marlon might have been involved with that one.

Yeah, Bad 40 is very likely. Especially since they'd just repackage Bad 25 and maybe 4 more new songs. And We Are Here To Change The World. And Streetwalker again. And even Sunset Driver again, since he also worked on it for Bad apparently? Lol

This one was actually listed in his ‘93 deposition!

But there are a handful of titles that still haven’t made it out to the public, I’m sure.

If they got on the good side of QJ (which I doubt), I bet they would release Streetwalker '87, no way they would release Streetwalker '88 a third time lmao.

I believe there is a longer version of WAHTCTW, but I may be wrong, if it exists, then that would be cool if they put it in there.

I feel like if Bad 40 were to come out, it would also have a sleeve case like thriller 40 lol, I also see new songs being songs that were considered for Bad 25, as they could have been mastered or almost mastered for Bad 25, like What You Do to Me or even TYLA

i'd say a Bad 40 would have demos of tracks already out similar to how many tracks thriller 40 reused, so tracks like:

SOPYHO (87 demo)
Tabloid Jungle
Earth Song (88 Demo)
Cheater
We are here to change the world

those along with maybe some unfinished tracks are very likely to be on it.

Was the entirety of Earth song 88 leaked? cus its only 1 minute from what we have

Also, if half of MJs catalog gets sold, does it include unreleased songs? and if a person who is an avid fan of him gets it, would they be able to release new content?

Hopefully there'll be more unreleased songs than re-releases since that was the case with Bad 25, I heard the estate considered using over 20 songs for the re-issue so maybe they'll try to use the same songs for Bad 40. I hope Buffalo Bill makes it at least.

Buffalo Bill is more thriller era, so I doubt it but who knows

The estate considers Chicago 1945 a Bad era song and that was also recorded in 1983. It's safe to say that for estate, anything between 1983-1985 belongs to the Bad era as well.
Like Loving You, but I guess that song was like very early Bad era, so yea

Also wtf happened to the wikipedia of unreleased songs lmao, theres so many fake songs that make no sense, at this point, just add s*x life

What's worse is that it's "semi-protected," which means people are actively making Wikipedia accounts just to spew their fanfic ideas for MJ songs.

I think either Matt Forger or John Barnes said that there were around 60 songs made for the Bad album alone, I counted all the known outtakes and released titles and there were still about a dozen or more songs remaining. There's definitely some gems hidden there.
