You guys are obsessed with starting Invincible threads

another one
you are also obsessed with Invincible
I guess you love the 70s soul of Break of Dawn

It's funny, I bought the CD back in the days but to be honest I maybe listened to it 1-2 times. But since you people here are so obsessed with it I gave it another chance 22 years later. And to my surprise there are some songs there that I rediscovered. Especially ballads like Break of Dawn, Don't Walk Away, Whatever Happens. So thank you guys!

It is not because @Richard76 mentions invincible 100 times a day that it is a popular album. If you keep this up maybe one day the album starts trending though 😜

It is hard to measure how popular invincible is in the fanbase. It is certainly my least fave solo album and that includes the 4 Motown albums.

The Lost Children NEEDS to get recognition. It seems like everyone forgets that song on Invincible..
The song is too overhated tbh. The only issue I have with it is that MJ doesn't sing on it much, but apart from that it's a great song. It's also sad to see the hate it gets when MJ clearly had a lot of love for the song.

Stand up for the underdog ✊
yes! I listed to Invincible way more than others, not because its my most favourite, but because I can listen to the songs in background while doing other things, and most songs provide a sort of soothing background music.

The album has been trending. It's not Thriller levels but let's be real, it gets more attention than Dangerous or HIStory. Black or White, maybe Remember the Time, and They Don't Care About Us, maybe You Are Not Alone, and Stranger in Moscow gets covers. Nothing else. Meanwhile, YRMW Is a consistently popular radio play song; I hear it all the time.

Depends where you live I guess. Black or white, remember the time, heal the world, earth song and they don’t care about us get weekly airplay in Belgium. Nothing of Invincible gets the same treatment.

I don’t know how albums go trending. I’m positive Dangerous gets more weekly streams than invincible. Anyway I don’t really know what I am talking about 😅

Well, I wish that were the case here. I rarely hear the 1st one and basically never hear the last 3

TDCAU is huge, technically,on the level of Billie Jean. American Radio just does not have the proclivity for an artists post greatest hits material. But Invincible stuff gets play on R&B stations that play the modern stuff. Along with Xscape and such.

Well it’s not that weird I think. The last 3 songs you never hear pretty much flopped in the US but they were massive in Europe, absolute blockbuster singles.

"They Don't Care About Us" sold very well as a commercial single in the United States. The reason it charted relatively low on the Hot 100 was because radio stations refused to play it due to the controversy surrounding its lyrics. But it's become more popular in the past decade as an anthem for social movements. "Earth Song" was never released as a single in the United States.

TLC does get the love. Maybe not enough but some people do appreciate it. :)

There's a few threads for it on the board, most of them are quite short. I think this one has had the most discussion:

This is what I've been saying, thank you!
I don't believe a Michael fan wouldn't like Invincible. Makes no sense.
Not actually listening to it is the only explanation, as far as I'm concerned.

I really don't like it much, but I'm also not a big fan of songs like Heal the World and Childhood - great message and all but a bit too corny for my taste (sorry ).

I mean... Invincible threads are always pretty interesting as there are so many different opinions amongst the fandom!
Some people consider it his best work, others hate it and even more people would like it if the song choice would be different.
There is much room to debate, despite we have albums like BAD for example where the whole world agrees that it's a masterpiece (and even better than Thriller🫥)
Btw, I myself am guilty of having started Invincible Threads🙋‍♂️

It is a bit tiresome, but if people enjoy the album then fair enough. I personally don't see the album nor the era, as interesting as the Bad, Dangerous or HIStory era myself

Objectively, I don't think the quality on Invincible is as consistent as Mike's previous output. I think that speaks to his health problems and more importantly his full time commitment to his children. I respect that enormously.

Ultimately I don't find at as interesting as his other works, for example I never see threads talking about the BOTDF album, which has some Mike's most interesting and thought provoking lyrics.

That's a great point actually. It's that simple really.

YRMW didn't flop here, it was a top 10 hit. That's pretty much in the same class as your Wanna Be Startin Somethin, Human Nature, P.Y.T,and Smooth Criminal, B-Tier hits.

But Remember the Time and Scream also were in that category and they rarely get play, I never hear the latter actually. YANA was a huge hit, never gets play.

Because every TRUE Michael Jackson's FAN understands, that Dangerous, Invincible and Bad - three BEST MJ's albums! It's just a fact! Michael was making these precious albums really really hard! He literally gave all of his soul at recording sessions! This 3 masterpieces, were made in blood and sweat! Every song is a ruselt of infinite time of recording sessions, and you can hear it in every song! Remember The Time, Another Part of Me Heaven Can Wait - these precious pieces of art will always be up-to-date! Michael had made enormous work! So, if you respect his efforts, you will respect this beautiful albums
