Actually i have alot of LB books , The night sky? was absolutely a .... childhood memory. We nee to talk more about this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bloody hell lolOK, I lied. Me and wendi went mad.
It is all that creative energy you see . ooh i feel it ! (Did yesterday haha@bluemoon7 was the epitome of restrained, polite normality. Me and wendi went a bit bonkers.
The guys very sensibly stayed well away!
I had to resurrect the Lassen Park sulphur photo. That's how intense it got.![]()
EVERYONE SPRAY THE BUG!
Too tired to go into this (reasons, boring) but, just quickly, yes, I had the LB Cinderella book and it was my top, top fave LB of all the ones (not very many) that I had. Reasons:I did after i saw your lovely lady bird book ! Seriously did you love it?
Yes!!!!!! Yes, yes. Yes!!!!!!!!!!!i had it too.. I loved it cause she had three dress changes in that zin .
I didn't really like that one but then I always preferred Sleeping Beauty as a ballet. Not as a book or actual story. Plus, Sleeping Beauty doesn't really do anything. Cinderella isn't exactly fascinating, tbh, but at least she gets to do stuff. She has to fetch the pumpkin, gather up the 2 lizards, cope with a fairy godmother popping up out of the blue, get her head around being turned into a princess 3 nights in a row, run home super fast to beat the midnight deadline - she doesn't have to hang around draped all over her bed for a hundred years or whatever. Give that SB girl something to DO, fgs!I loved the sleeping beauty version too.
Yes here's another two words that I came up with . I Win.um, and another fkn 2 more ..(My fave)- You lose. How in awe are u now mister mfk that put me in therapy yesterday!!! ? haha
( Oh , I try .I appreciate that .thank you @Agonum)
These look really inviting actually @bluemoon7 and i am not too much into sugar ....But um ..i can't believe noone has said it yet !!!!
LOVE IS A >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> BERLINER.I love this picture of him . So pretty. Had many stories written about ..but that's another story.
OohMe, totally exhausted after so-called 'quick' reply to wendi.

And there it is. that is what made you and I fashionistas darhling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111 hahaToo tired to go into this (reasons, boring) but, just quickly, yes, I had the LB Cinderella book and it was my top, top fave LB of all the ones (not very many) that I had. Reasons:
1 - she went to 3 dances not just one
2 - the 3 dresses OMG!!!!!!!!!!
I found it magical , god its a bit of a shock to talk about it -in a nice way of course -Explosive3 - each one better than the last
Say about 3/4 years , i know they had stages - different levels, still do- around 4 stages of reading -but i was still reading the ladybird times tables one at 11 /12 years .I was reading at 3 though. Read all kinds , Humpty Dumpty Club , StoryTeller was another, The Garden Gang , Mr men and Littel Miss books , Even the paper everything that had text i was reading it.4 - we are talking high fashion moments being presented to tiny girls of -
Yeah feeling you i was small too 3/ 4 babecan't remember what age I was but I was tiny. It was exciting. High fashion!
Yeah but she'd look so stunning in that pink - imagine thatNaomi Campbell eat your heart out, lol.
let me tell you a story ...............5 - the fabric. It's like when I look at Michael's gold leotard. Her dresses are almost as good as that.
exactly ...this is ... too close to my own brain6 - the folds of the fabric and the light falling on the fabric. More excitement
Yes she had stars, silver star sparkles in her hair on day two. :07 - the detail. The pink flowers in her hair on Day One. The sleeves of her dress on Day Two. Plus those pink ribbons. The tiara in her hair on Day Three. I could go on!
In the dark and it was such an engrossing scene picture. it would thrill me i was so into it id take this and a ton others read them in the car being driven to gigs , i cant believcce i am talking about my book haha8 - her grey dress. Surprisingly awesome! That beautiful 50's skirt. The flow and movement of the fabric. Especially when she's running.
Thats like life 2 me9 - she was running against the clock. A strong, athletic Cinderella. Go, girl!!!!!!!!!
Oh my god ..yeah exactly10 - A lot of the scenes were at night.
Yes......................... yeahSo many stories take place during the day. This was night time and so exciting.
YES. that's what made it so engaging with meDark skies.
yeah , ;')Gotta love that.
magic11 - the fairy godmother dressed, inexplicably, as a Welsh woman.![]()
i didnt think of that zin , the golden slipper thing was my thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing haha ...12 - her wooden clogs. Healthy feet!
She is elegant and fierce . And the whole story is elegant and intense . Do you still have your copy i do13 - her running technique! Pretty good (I'm not a runner but it looks good to me)
Yeah see ...wow14 - that pumpkin!![]()
All the detail on her fabric , the lace on dress 2 is spectacular and the interior of the ball room was so realistic15 - the movement of her skirt when she's dancing (pink dress) - omg! Beautiful folds of the fabric as she moves it aside.
.....................16 - The night sky in the background.
I liked page 40/41 ole boy was picking up / discovering the slipper. and even on that page, its early morning hours . skies are so dark. The background is as beautiful as the centre standing images.17 - things I had zero interest in - the Prince,
no, no time for these bitches though they were beautiful oncethe stepsisters,
No thank you.the stepmother,
........the wedding,
the slipper. Boring. All of that was irrelevant.
god, i love it . I appreciate it that's for certain . bit stunned really 2 to be honest.I know there is a more sketchy type in 1981 , and there were more Disney types (hated) after that - but this book , is special.. it is like a piece of art. paintings. For me it was all about the night time, the dynamic between her and the fairy godmother but, most of all, those awesome dresses!
These are just the edited highlights, you understand.![]()
THIS IS IT! Love that we are on the same page like three times here .Yes!!!!!! Yes, yes. Yes!!!!!!!!!!!
I drew the pink dress in my art exam many years ago ,Fairy tales often do things in threes but I can't remember if I ever saw another version of Cinderella with her attending 3 dances. At least, the LB version made the deepest impression bc of the lovely pictures. Those clothes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love ballet tooI didn't really like that one but then I always preferred Sleeping Beauty as a ballet.
i didnt like snow white i found that quite watery ...l i liked little red riding hood lol that ...now that was brutal lolNot as a book or actual story.
But that's what its meant to do . its meant to sleep!Plus, Sleeping Beauty doesn't really do anything.
Always been a little core thing of mineCinderella isn't exactly fascinating, tbh,
She gets to blow up stuff and take over the world !but at least she gets to do stuff.
yeah those lizards were really cute to me -they even had faces too!She has to fetch the pumpkin, gather up the 2 lizards,
Another fairy Godmother is Glinda from oz -the dress on she - wow!cope with a fairy godmother popping up out of the blue,
all this sounds like my day to day life hereget her head around being turned into a princess 3 nights in a row, run home super fast to beat the midnight deadline -
Don't disturb her zinders , SB is sleeping - shes a lazy bugger that one haha ooh princess and the pea another princess i liked!she doesn't have to hang around draped all over her bed for a hundred years or whatever. Give that SB girl something to DO, fgs!
its really cool to me that it impressed you . on stage - hey what about phantom of the opera ? how do you rate that ?The very first ballet I went to was Sleeping Beauty. I can remember it like it was yesterday. Carabosse, her entrance on to the stage, I've never seen anything like it since. Seriously.
i know! That. Is one LONG reply. Holy Michaelroni.
No, because I lack the vocabulary when it comes to that kind of thing. But Iāve got a picture!I don't think we have, but maybe we name them differently? Can you describe them?
