Don’t you think there was something more to it?Because it's a cool name
Because that was a good promotion for it. He literally was famous for BJ and moonwalk in 80s. At that time he didn't become a legend yet. He was just an influencer and popular entertainer.I’ve been thinking about Michael’s autobiography. How come he named it Moonwalk? And why was the movie named Moonwalker?
This.He literally was famous for BJ and moonwalk in 80s.
Bad was released shortly before the autobiography. If all he was after was promotion, I believe Michael would have extended that to the choice of autobiography title by alluding to the album. Michael wasn’t overly nostalgic when it came to music. He was always passionate about new sounds.Because that was a good promotion for it. He literally was famous for BJ and moonwalk in 80s. At that time he didn't become a legend yet. He was just an influencer and popular entertainer.
He also called his own film "Moonwalker", come on) It's obviously because he loves that word and he wanted a good promotionYes. But if you try to view it from another angle: Was the title’s sole purpose to maximize exposure? Wasn’t there more to it? I guess he must have liked the word? As the title of the autobiography, is it a verb or a noun?
It goes hand in hand with Michael’s penchant for one-word titles, that much is clear. But I somehow believe there is more to the title choice than just recognition.
What would you name your autobiography mister?Yes. But if you try to view it from another angle: Was the title’s sole purpose to maximize exposure? Wasn’t there more to it? I guess he must have liked the word? As the title of the autobiography, is it a verb or a noun?

Mm good point though. But I somehow believe there is more to the title choice than just recognition.
Hmm yes in that case.. it might be a love for the mystery of the moon (Neverland logo/Scared of the Moon), or maybe Moonwalker was a derivation of 'Streetwalker', he really liked that song..Yes. Recognise. Yes. I was just going to say this. I will go with this.most recognizable thing up until that point
By that logic (recognition first and foremost), wouldn’t it have been better to name Bad, Thriller 2, or Moonwalker?Still, in the end I think it was chosen because the moonwalk was his most iconic/most recognizable thing up until that pointy
Good question! I will have to contemplate it.What would you name your autobiography mister?
Not the most thought through response, that one.Because he had to name it something and that's what he picked.
No I thought about it just enough, you're thinking too much about the title of the book. Not the most thought through response, that one.
How can you say that with such assurance? Were you there when the title was chosen? No I thought about it just enough, you're thinking too much about the title of the book.
And i know this was question was not directed to me but sweet, if it had been named Moonwalker...or Bad , The public would have got confused right? Thriller 2 ? I feel no impact from that. Because it is repetitive. And here he was reinventing his image so i don't think that would have gone down so great. So i think leaving out the er at the end of title...ironically, made everyone alert about things!By that logic (recognition first and foremost), wouldn’t it have been better to name Bad, Thriller 2, or Moonwalker?
I aim to please darling LOLGood question! I will have to contemplate it.
Don't be so rude you tut tutNot the most thought through response, that one.
That train of thought tells of other considerations at play besides just recognition and exposure. Reinvention – it sure was important. And i know this was question was not directed to me but sweet, if it had been named Moonwalker...or Bad , The public would have got confused right? Thriller 2 ? I didn't say it didn't interest me, you're the one that decided to respond rudely to what I wrote for no reason. Someone earlier on in the thread basically said the exact same thing I did and you liked it lmao. How can you say that with such assurance? Were you there when the title was chosen?
Edit: And if the topic doesn’t interest you, why do you feel the need to post in this thread?
What does this mean ? Mine would be - 'Seriously, Don't read it ' Then on the back in maybe neon scolding letters, 'Well, i told you not to.'My own autobiography probably would go by the name of “Vy från en stubbe,” by the way.
How ironic....I didn't say it didn't interest me, you're the one that decided to respond rudely to what I wrote for no reason. Someone earlier on in the thread basically said the exact same thing I did and you liked it lmao.
Yes I was talking about people like you when I said that, well done! How ironic....
It's depressing that most of the discussion on this forum at this point is just us responding to people who are clearly just saying things to be annoying and start unserious debates for their own amusement
Off your high horse ladYes I was talking about people like you when I said that, well done!
I see you just came in here to derail this thread and be annoying as usual so I'm gonna put you on ignore as I can't be bothered.Off your high horse lad
You had already done that yourself due to your reply to Agonum. His initial response to you was perfectly acceptable.I see you just came in here to derail this thread and be annoying as usual so I'm gonna put you on ignore as I can't be bothered.
I really don't have time for whatever personal grudge you hold against me because you made an ass of yourself in another thread yesterday. You had already done that yourself due to your reply to Agonum. His initial response to you was perfectly acceptable.
I'm just not a fan of your entitled tone in your replies. This is not your forum, it's for everyone
I liked that @filmandmusic ..... but then i don't know if that would work ? It does seem 'illuminating' though , something more familiar ? maybeMaybe the biopic should be named moonwalker too
Isn't it already officially titled "Michael"? I could be wrong.I liked that @filmandmusic ..... but then i don't know if that would work ? It does seem 'illuminating' though , something more familiar ? maybe
