Prince Appreciation Thread - For Fans

Well there was a nice playful vibe to this 1 zin . Personally , I think this is one of the better ones. i think she makes it better though. She seems genuine, because there are some out there and especially on my dvd where P. maybe realises what they are asking or trying to get out of him and then it gets all defensive , it all becomes tabloid fodder and i don't think , well :unsure:i get a sort of inking that P. didn't have alot of faith / trust in people at all , so Rosie's style was good and could have possibly put P. at ease. Also he was married to his woman there , and i think the m word was important to him. I think he thrived on marriage. I'd like to see more too to form a better opinion. because well, who knows really ?
I agree with all of this. ALL of it. Spot on, babe!

"Dig, if you will, a picture of a Prince-inspired makeup collection. Smoky eyeliners, velvety eye shadows, setting powder, and more find a home in gilded leather packaging — all doused in his signature purple and emblazoned with the Love Symbol, of course. Thanks to Urban Decay and Damaris Lewis, a model and dancer who worked closely with the late musician, that vision has become a reality… for now.

Lewis, Urban Decay, and Prince's estate have collaborated on a limited-edition, seven-piece makeup collection in memory of him and his most iconic works. As Lewis tells Allure, each of these products embodies Prince's work in a different and very special way. "The key elements of Prince's music and personality that Urban Decay brought to this collection, in my opinion, are quality, intention, practice, and not fitting in," she explains."

"When Black-ish announced that they were celebrating 100 episodes of the Johnson family with a Prince spectacular it was clear that they were going to go all out and the Emmy nominated creative team did not disappoint. Costume designer Michelle R. Cole and her team recreated some of the legendary artist’s iconic looks including looks from the eras of Kiss, Erotic City. When Doves Cry, Sign O’ The Times, Sexy M.F., Raspberry Beret, and of course Purple Rain.

Over the course of her career costume designer Michelle R. Cole has been nominated for six Emmys; two for her work on Black-ish and four for her time working on In Loving Color. Coincidentally this is her second Emmy nomination for recreating iconic Prince looks after a couple of famous In Loving Color sketches paid homage to the artist as well. She spoke with Awards Daily TV and reminisced on what it was like recreating the looks of a cultural icon, her favorite Prince memories, what it’s like to dress the Johnson family, and she even took the time to gush about how great of a boss and leader Anthony Anderson is."

I've posted several Susan Rogers' interviews here and on the board, generally, but not Peggy McCreary. She has to be here. She rocks!

Here's Peggy being interviewed at Sunset Sound Studios, Prince's favourite recording studio. Peggy was a staff engineer there and Prince would always ask for her to be on his projects when he was working there.

Time stamp for her starting to talk about Prince approx 49m

1hr 31m 50s - Prince tells Peggy that sometimes songs would come to him in a dream. Which sounds very like the way some of Michael's songs arrived in his head.

Various people - including the ever-awesome Susan Rogers - offer their thoughts on SOTT (song)

"In the latest Diary of a Song, the Prince Estate and his closest collaborators offer an unprecedented peek into Prince’s creative process."

...... yeah studying this bloke kind of highlights how unlucky we are as m supporters. To me anyway.

Make up now? what
Exactly. They find so many different ways to celebrate Prince and that's great and everything but it doesn't feel like I'm seeing the equivalent for Michael. Perhaps I'm being unfair bc Michael has the musical, Cirque du Soleil, a T40 might be on its way, the biopic should be happening at some point. That's all fine but those things are of no interest to me. I want other stuff.

Yeah. I had no idea. I knew about the box sets and so on, of course. And, imo, the albums don't count bc we know Prince left behind gadzillions of songs. So I don't mind that so much, of course there's going to be loads of records released. It's all the other Prince stuff I'm seeing. Some really creative ideas, stuff available online, lots of different people involved in different projects.

Gah!

This is Dirty Mind era i think zin.

I did find another video today which found cool, The daisy Chain. From the album The Slaughterhouse album Released on: 2004-03-29

This is Dirty Mind era i think zin.
It is. I can tell from the dodgy outfit. I don't especially love this photo - I'd be fine with this cropped as a portrait - but I love the zig zaggy background and I love his stance. I'd love it even better if he'd put some keks on but he will insist on trying to be sexy. He does look very pretty here.

Xhecking out Lyrics Props n' pounds,
from The Slaughterhouse [2004]

Props n' pounds, props n' pounds
Love for one another is the only sound today
Uh, positivity is the only way

CHORUS:
Props n' pounds, props n' pounds
Love for one another is the only sound today
Negative people don't get to play
Props n' pounds, props n' pounds
Why you wanna holla when you know what the Bible say?
Positivity is the only way

Once again when the coin is tossed and lands upon the sea
Unsuspecting lives are lost when they didn't have to be
When the book is opened and the Son condemns them all
Pagan holidays, crucifixes - $100 tears will fall

CHORUS
(Hey)
(No play)
(You know it)

All the ones still in the game never give me pounds
Egotists too proud to say they're the opposite of found
Worrying about the validity of the ruler's crown
When everyone ought to be in line giving props n' pounds

CHORUS
(Hey hey hey)
(Ooow)
(Hey hey hey...)

Props n' pounds {x3}

Once again when the money get tossed
Never gonna see NPG floss
Keeping you happy is the only cost
Love God and never will your life will be lost
Listen to the words that will save every one
Safe sex campaign taught about a gun
With CON as the prefix, suffix be the DOM
Look at 'em both and tell me something
What's in the Trojan Horse lubrication'
Nothing goes in my woman 'cept the Son
Rewind

"... I mean he's just one of the greatest live performers there is.
But all this other stuff, the attitude, going on around it, I mean you can be
a great musician and not have the right kind of approach. And Prince has the
right approach too. I think the gift of simplicity is like a keynote of art.
I mean, he doesn't, he-he knows when to stop... usually."

Well.
Let'z have a little look at this then. :ROFLMAO:
