Personally, I've always been more of a fan of Steve's demo, mostly due to the key it's played in. But they made the best choice with how they did the final track.

This all makes for great possible deluxe re issues like the big Marvin Gay albums had.

When you know all of this exist you realize we really have had nothing yet, this stuff could breath new life into old songs.

Something not talked about here but very intriguing is the very first version of Beat It which had a heavy metal feel to it but then Quincy asked to tone it down because it was supposed to be a hit.

It’s a bit sad knowing all this is that we usually get some remixed songs nobody of the fanbase is interested in.

The way it was told, Steve played his parts that way. I got the impression it was just the parts. Maybe he did play to the vocal takes? Either way, they could combine them still.

Yes it is just the main riff from what I understand, I don’t think there were any other changes to the song. Maybe they even threw away his original part.

Something that was bugging me for years.
Is there a possibility the Guitar Solo as seen on "Black Or White" during the This is It Rehearsals, to be part of an unreleased track? I mean the melody is oddly specific.
Do we know anything about it?

Behind The Mask samples a Bad tour show (forget exactly which), Xscape samples You Rock My World, (I Like) The Way You Love Me samples a phone call. All other samples I know of were already present in the original versions.
