Oh, that´s what it is, I think we have a similar one:

How sweet? It looks almost edible.

And this is a 'fancy' version. I couldn't find a small photo of a proper plain Madeira cake. The icing sugar and the slice of lime on top shouldn't be there, imo. Madeira cake is about as plain as a sweet cake can be. The sponge is light not stodgy and it's not loaded down with sugar.

Lemon drizzle cake is a bastardised version of Madeira cake, imo. Horribly sweet bc of the lemon drizzle.
