This photo you posted, the fabric design, I think you can see the influences from his own country / region. I could be mistaken and I can't explain it properly but I'm sure I'm seeing a 'non-Western' (for want of better descriptive vocab) in his design here. His clothes are very Western but also there's something else going on. The sleeves on that dress on the left ...

Very true! I think I have read about exactly this in the past. He incorporates his native country/cultural tradition / craftsmanship and elements into his fashion.

As I was doing this I kept picturing the type of clothes he might have designed for Michael if they'd had a chance to work together. Very blingy but beautiful and classy and elegant. Fun and lighthearted but deadly serious in the meticulous workmanship.
