Oh Lord, I already fell for a couple of April 1st pranks lmao. I am too tired todayI can only find two tweets on this. Am now beginning to wonder if it's a #@*&% April Fool's. Which would be hilarious but also really bloody annoying, lol.![]()
Thing is, I usually don't. Not bc of any superior detection skills on my part but just bc I'm usually at work and there's no time for such nonsense plus you have the 12 noon cut-off. Which would be great if I wasn't online and lost in a world of multiple time zones, lol. I forgot that minor detail. Sheesh!Oh Lord, I already fell for a couple of April 1st pranks lmao.

Even if Bruce is in the biopic I don't think they'd announce it. Quincy is known to the wider audience. My guess would be that Bruce's name wouldn't be that well known for them to want to announce it like they have with the others. If they include a scene in the studio you'd think Bruce would be there but who knows if they even want such a scene?Yeah, I mean… where’s Bruce Swedien?
Would be a real shame if they didn’t include B. He stuck with M far longer than Q. And B was very important to M. As was M to B.Even if Bruce is in the biopic I don't think they'd announce it. I suppose they could include him in a group announcement like they did with Bill Bray. We saw a few pictures of the actor playing Bill before we got the actor's name.
I haven't recovered from the Andy Warhol thing, lol. I was so up for that!![]()
Well, I did find the IMdb page today. Which was weird bc I could NOT find it for love nor money yesterday. Anyway, today it was there (I've posted it on the biopic thread) with the actor listed. But that's all I could find. A short piece on reddit based on the IMdb page, but that's it. Well, as of early this morning. I haven't checked since then.Have you been able to confirm Warhol?
I think they'd have a hard time not showing Bill, he was there so much and for so many years, as you say. I understand why they didn't make a big announcement about his casting but you can't leave him out. I know they can't show everything, they can't include everyone but they could make something out of the people who were around him for a long time - Bill, Karen, Bruce, Brad Buxer, perhaps Matt Forger - versus people who didn't stick around or who were not loyal to him.Would be a real shame if they didn’t include B. I’m curious about Stevie Wonder, too.Well, I did find the IMdb page today. Which was weird bc I could NOT find it for love nor money yesterday. So who knows?

Just speculating!![]()
But this is the problem, isn't it? Not only did Michael know / meet hundreds of people but many of them were so significant in his life. I made the point the other day that I couldn't imagine who they could cast to play James Brown. Someone popped up and said, in that case, Fred Astaire needs to be included. I politely disagreed. Fred influenced Michael but imo James was way more significant. And so is Stevie, of course. But you can't include everyone and you can't gallop through the story giving everyone a mere cameo appearance. I'm no scriptwriter, obviously, and I'm sure they know how to get around these problems and tell a coherent story but it's fascinating to me how that can be achieved.I’m curious about Stevie Wonder, too.
Agree with your James–Fred stance. But this is the problem, isn't it? Not only did Michael know / meet hundreds of people but many of them were so significant in his life. It really didn't bother me. I'm still not madly invested in this project although my interest did go up massively once they announced the casting of Suzanne de Passe. And I am intrigued by this Andy Warhol thing. But early on I had almost zero interest beyond just wanting it to be a classy product and for other people to have a lovely time watching it. Now, I still don't plan to watch the thing but I'm more interested in how they are going to achieve something creative, coherent and classy. I'm kind of interested in how they will solve the puzzle.Although I must say, to me, it was kind of provocative how the role of Branca was announced with trumpets and fanfares,
Michael lived more life than 10 people put together, lol. And there is still the fact that, bc it's a film, some scenes will be fiction or at least heavily modified to fit the dramatic narrative.to the backdrop of how we might not even get Bruce Swedien, James, Stevie, Lisa-Marie et al.
But Andy Warhol is a globally known figure. Lots of people in the general audience will know his name but might not know of any connection between him and Michael. Andy met Michael multiple times and did the Time 1984 cover so I do think including him makes sense. And even if the Andy Warhol scene ends up on the cutting room floor (I'm old school, lol) there will still be loads of other stuff that doesn't even get filmed in the first place. But as you say, it ought to be hard. And impossible to please everyone, of course. Yet I think that the footprints’ magnitude should be taken into account, hence why Warhol strike me as odd.
Oh, but I just had it the other day, didn’t I?International Children's Book Day, apparently. I'm reminded of one of my fave books from childhood. The Weirdstone of Brisingamen by Alan Garner.
Didn't notice! Sorry! I don't always follow the conversation over here. I don't remember seeing that, you'll have to remind me.Oh, but I just had it the other day, didn’t I?![]()
Oh, I love stuff like this. Looks good. Can't read it now but will def come back to it.
There’s a related study, also very much worth reading, I think, on the subject of tempo fluctuations. Let me see if I can find it.Oh, I love stuff like this. Looks good. Can't read it now but will def come back to it.![]()
It was Astrid Lindgren themed. Bluemoon also joined in for a bit.Didn't notice! Sorry! I don't always follow the conversation over here. I don't remember seeing that, you'll have to remind me.
It's definitely today, though. I just checked.
Vaguely remember that. I did tune it out, tbh. Sorry! Astrid Lindgren very much not my person. It was Astrid Lindgren themed. Bluemoon also joined in for a bit.
oh god, no! Now I'm trying to restrain myself. I love a good limerick. I need to post something. May is far too far away.I’m looking forward to the twelfth day of May, also known as National Limerick Day. I’m sure this thread will be buzzing then.
Oh, Highland cattle!
Rock stars!Oh, Highland cattle!
Named after Ulmus, I wonder?
