He did.So Michael did not recorded alright now
It's just that what I found it funny the most was that when talking about Buffalo Bill - arguably one of the most sought after outtakes that a lot of fans have been wanting to hear for decades - Bill simply went "eh, not my thing." That tweet really caught me off guard lol. Fair thing that everyone is gonna have their own taste I guess. In all fairness, Bill just did the basic tracking of TMO; he's never heard how the song's further progressed.
So he didn't do it. I have spoken.
True, and I respect his take, but it also is hilarious. For some of these, I can imagine MJ giving him a track to tweak and leaving the studio, and Bill is sitting there by himself wincing during the playback. haha. It's just that what I found it funny the most was that when talking about Buffalo Bill - arguably one of the most sought after outtakes that a lot of fans have been wanting to hear for decades - Bill simply went "eh, not my thing." I would love it too, especially for Night Time Lover. But while researching this, I unfortunately came to the conclusion that this was not recorded by MJ.Would LOVE to hear the MJ version of Centipede and Night Time Lover.
Here are a few
Make or Break was a song written by Michael and Myself. It was never fully finished. There was a demo incomplete vocal. There is a partial lyric as well. It was the third piece of music I created using the Synclavier. I like its potential as a song. Make or Break didn't make Bad.
Alright now was recorded by Ralph Tresvant. It is even older than Make or Break.
Buffalo Bill is great but has never been completely finished. I love that piece and I would love to help finish it. Buffalo Bill along with several others were set aside from the Victory album and held for consideration to be included on Bad. Buffalo Bill is one of the first complete songs I did for and with Michael
Liberian Girl and Another Part of Me were pre Synclavier done during the last third of Victory and way before Bad's writing and development phase.
@BlackAnon Do you have the screenshots?Bit off topic, but does anyone have screenshots of John Barnes talking about those unreleased tracks on FaceBook (I believe) ? I mean, I believe what has been posted here, but I also like archiving things like that.
Same here. Hearing "Chicago 1945" has restored some of my faith that a few gems remain hidden away.Buffalo Bill is the one song I hope lives up to its hype
Why he did not say tomboy have vocals or no .why he did not said MJ recorded alright now with vocalsJohn Barnes was working with Michael during his stay in Bahrain but when we would ask about the music or anything, he'd steer away from the topic and say he's nohyt ready to talk about it yr net.
Didn't we get confirmation from someone that nothing was actually done over there?John Barnes was working with Michael during his stay in Bahrain but when we would ask about the music or anything, he'd steer away from the topic and say he's not ready to talk about it yet.
Both of those things are confirmed, relaxWhy he did not say tomboy have vocals or no .why he did not said MJ recorded alright now with vocals
I think it's safe to say that MJ vocals exist for these, in some capacity. Why he did not say tomboy have vocals or no .why he did not said MJ recorded alright now with vocals

For Buffalo Bill, I think he meant production for the song is complete but not vocally complete.
Probably from their standpoint but John always avoided the question when asked. Makes me wonder what happened.Didn't we get confirmation from someone that nothing was actually done over there?
I'd say it's the opposite, full vocals & not polished production. Why else was it a release candidate in March '84 - just few month before the release of Victory? For Buffalo Bill, I think he meant production for the song is complete but not vocally complete.
If that’s the case, why would John avoid answering? There was something deeperIt seems like John simply wasn’t very involved in the Bahrain sessions beyond orchestrating “I Have This Dream.” Buxer and MDP have both shared recollections of the era, Damien Shields confirmed that at least one song (“He Who Makes the Sky Gray”) exists with MJ vocals, and other onlookers have confirmed that some sporadic recording was taking place—so, at the very least, we can be certain that MJ was doing something.
The dispute with the Prince of Bahrain, maybe? If that’s the case, why would John avoid answering? There was something deeper
Just for the record, Kim Chandler (backing vocalist on HWMTSG) doesn't mention the song by its name anymore on her website.Damien Shields confirmed that at least one song (“He Who Makes the Sky Gray”) exists with MJ vocals
It was probably previewed early with intentions on completing in time of the album. Michael was also allegedly shopping the tape around to various DJs during the time, although John Barnes said he doubts that.I'd say it's the opposite, full vocals & not polished production. I could see him playing records early for record execs/journalists, but I can't picture him letting a tape make the rounds for DJs, etc. Especially given his perfectionist nature. He'd probably be thinking of edits or overdubs while letting someone listen to it. lol.It was probably previewed early with intentions on completing in time of the album. That’s why I doubt it as well because I can’t see Michael shopping around unfinished music…BUT, he did do that with the promo flight tape for Dangerous so it’s not that far fetchedI could see him playing records early for record execs/journalists, but I can't picture him letting a tape make the rounds for DJs, etc. Especially given his perfectionist nature. It seems like “I Have This Dream” was a hugely controversial project—maybe it has something to do with it? Just speculating, of course. It was also a very sensitive time for MJ, being just a couple months after the trial. Maybe speaking about it was taxing for him.If that’s the case, why would John avoid answering? I agree. Nothing against Quincy but Barnes helped Michael craft his sound post-Thriller.John Barnes - in my opinion - was one of the greatest figures we had in terms of detailing writing, recording, unreleased tunes, etc. He really went in depth with his answers and you could tell how deeply Michael had impacted his life.
