The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

It was probably previewed early with intentions on completing in time of the album. Michael was also allegedly shopping the tape around to various DJs during the time, although John Barnes said he doubts that.
Why would they not bite? Michael Jackson at the height of Thriller? No way this happened.

I don't remember ever seeing anything other than that on his site. We know she participated in this song because she's already been asked about it by several fans.
Was it so? I remember fans reaching out to her and asking more about the song and its compleness.

Perhaps I'm misrembering parts of it - it's been a long time since then. But I do remember for sure it was herself who revealed the song title.

Yes, that was it. I was able to speak with her. She told me she wouldn't say more because she felt she had been betrayed by MJ fans in the past. She confirmed to me that she had indeed sung with him. It was an incredible moment for her. She confirmed to me that it is also this song.
Every time I interview a former collaborator, I'm always told that it was an unforgettable moment and that MJ was an incredible person.

I think it's more likely than not that what MJ recorded for HWMTSG was nothing more than a simple guide vocal, MJ was at his lowest point emotionally and wasn't really interested in working on new music at that point in time just yet. The fact that he wouldn't show up to record a final vocal for I Have This Dream and didn't record anything for Light The Way makes me doubt that he'd manage to fully record a song simply like that.

I'm not saying this with certainty but if I were to guess the song is probably as complete as a song like Changes is, given how it's a song that was very much incomplete but MJ still called in other vocalists to sing on it.

In a first glance you could agree with that, but on the other hand Gloucestershire was also recorded while the Trial was ongoing if I'm not mistaken. Not that I consider it a complete song, but I think Michael was trying to get away from everything through his music. Hence those sessions are IMO one of the most significant sessions of his life.

Well, we actually don’t have a definitive answer yet. It’s true Gloucestershire was registered in the midst of the trial, but Damien speculated that it was recorded prior.

I've always been under the impression that it was done slightly before (perhaps late '04). If I recall correctly, Buxer once commented that after December of that year, little to nothing was worked on until the Bahrain sessions.

Who offered you songs that you didn’t accept? I heard there was one by Stevie Wonder?
Well, Stevie had a one which was good. It was a good song, more a danceable-type thing. There was also… ah, what’s his name?

David Grant?
I forget (laughs). There’s so much going on I forget. Steve is incredible. We went with more a danceable one but the song was great.

John Barnes on Roger Troutman
He worked with us on several early Bad tracks. It wasn't kept but it felt and sounded great. Tomboy and Al Capone.

On if he's featured on the Bad25 version of Al Capone
No he is not.

On if he produced the songs
He just played.

On if he was featured on other songs
Roger was not on smooth criminal or the way you make me feel. As far as tomboy, I didn't make it and was not fully completed. Al Capone had
Roger as a guest Muscian. The track was mostly done when he came in.

I can imagine it has some degree of vocals. No idea of completion, as I haven't heard it. And I think we'd all like to hear it, on that note. It's possible Bill didn't even hear the most updated version, as he was dismissed from the sessions after a while by DiLeo.

MJ's head dancing was on point, tho.

Hopefully Michael recorded it, his answer was quite vague to be fair
I wonder if this is A Pretty Face Is?

I don't think they recorded that.

Michael and I had been talking for some years about doing some songs together. There were two songs that I had written that we talked about doing. One was called A Pretty Face Is and the other was Get It. We've been talking about doing A Pretty Face Is at a later time. - Stevie Wonder

The song "Craze" is actually real?
The song was mentioned by Michael Prince on the MJCast for the first time (I still find it funny how he mentions a title that was never once heard before so casually lol) and said the song is 6 minutes long. Damien Shields said that the version he heard was an instrumental track.
