Before I get to official, I urge everyone to check out Remixed by Nick* on YouTube. How they haven't been hired by the estate yet is insane to me, here's just one great example of their work.

Michael Jackson - This Time Around (Maurice's Hip Hop Around Mix)

History (Tony Moran's HIStory Lesson)

Scream Louder (Flyte Tyme Remix)

2 Bad (Refugee Camp Mix)

Michael Jackson Feat. Eve - Butterflies Remix

You Rock My World (Track Masters Remix ft. Jay-Z)

The Girl Is Mine (Club Mix with Will.I.Am)

PYT (Pretty Young Thing) (2008 feat Will.I.Am)

Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' (2008 with Akon)

I’m not much of a remix guy in general, especially when someone’s trying to match the genius MJ was churning out. These are the only ones I really think are worth the time:

“Scream Louder (Flyte Tyme Remix)”
“HIStory (Tony Morgan’s HIStory Lesson)”
“The Girl Is Mine 2008”
“P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing) 2008”
“Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ 2008”
“This Is It”
“Hollywood Tonight”
“Behind the Mask”
“Much Too Soon”
“This Is It” (Paul Anka Version)
“Love Never Felt So Good”
“Chicago”
“Loving You”
“A Place with No Name”
“Xscape”
“Slave to the Rhythm” (feat. Justin Bieber)
“Do You Know Where Your Children Are” (2010)

From the ones listed here, I like Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2008 and History Tony Moran. For Scream, I prefer some of the remixes from the CD singles.

Better are the Dangerous remixes. I recently picked up Jam, In The Closet and Who Is It, original 90s UK CDs. They've got some good house remixes.

You also have stuff like The Remix Suite.

Why was MJ so involved in the remixes for Thriller 25 when he was so against remixes for BotDF? Is there an explanation for this?

If you haven't heard this you are REALLY missing out!

Michael Jackson was not against the remixes of the 'Blood On The Dance Floor' album because he knew the commercial value in these remixes.

The same goes for the remixes of the 'Thriller 25' album, and he was more involved in these remixes because he hoped that they would boost up his career which at that time (2008) was in sharp decline.

It is also a false myth that Michael Jackson disliked his songs being remixed/altered, considering that it was his idea for example the 'Billie Jean' lyrics to be changed into Pepsi lyrics in order the song to be used for the Pepsi commercial.

None of this is true.

History (Tony Moran's History Lesson), 2Bad (Refugee Camp Remix) and Blood on the Dance Floor (TM Switchblade Mix) are my favorites of the official remixes. Funny how all of those are from BOTDF... guess that shows how great they were lol.

Is It Scary/Threatened (Inmortal Version) Amazingly grab the three songs and put their incredible essence together

All of this is true.

For example, regarding the 'Billie Jean' lyrics that were changed into Pepsi lyrics, here is what Michael Jackson himself suggested to Roger Enrico (the then-Pepsi CEO):

"Why don't you take one of my songs? … Why don't you use 'Billie Jean'? … We'll make them Pepsi lyrics" (Michael Jackson, 1983)

Michael Jackson would like to do anything when it comes to getting money (in that case, 5 million US dollars of the Pepsi deal).
