Completely mental but I get it, lol. It makes sense that he feels he's just a circus animal performing tricks. I mean, I'm not sure I could be bothered to watch it. I'd rather just watch footage from Knebworth.

Making a Black man into a monkey/ape would not go down very well if you know the history of early Hollywood or just the United States in general. That's why in the Black Panther movie, the name Man-Ape (from the comic books) is not used, but M'Baku instead

I was tempted to do the same thing not gonna lie. There was no context until people mentioned that movie. I just figured you were mentioning something I didn't know about.

You're right and I apologise if my off the cuff remark upset anybody. Out of context my post did look a little off.

Anyway, with current CGI technology (Harrison Ford and Tom Hanks made to look younger etc. in movies) Is it possible that they'll use CGI to make Jafaar look more "MJ"? Is there a precedent for this in any other biopic/film?

There was some CGI in the Beatles film "Yesterday" with the John Lennon section at the end.

I feel like it's likely they will but tastefully, to resemble MJ in the 90s and later. Makeup can do a lot but, not as much as what the vitiligo treatments, and cosmetic surgeries did.
 
so estate announced the first trailer in december? that would mean we can expect to see the first trailer in november 2025 after the movie itself was delayed 1, 5 years :) yeahhhhhhh excitement!!! best estate ever

Off-topic but I'm wondering whether, in the biopic year, Michael will feature in any way at the Met Gala 2025. :unsure:

The theme is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" Could be a good moment for MJ-inspired style to be front and centre. Either that or my imagination is running away with me, lol.

Every part of Hollywood is weird, the film industry is rank.

I'd say there's a good chance Michael will be featured at the Met Gala 2025 in some way even if it's just Colman Domingo being interviewed about the biopic just as he was when he attended this year. Plus Michael's style has inspired Met Gala outfits before (including Riley Keough in 2017) so it easily could happen again in the biopic year.
 
I just had a thought: I would love for them to use “Lady of Summer” (MJ’s 2009 classical song) after the credit song in the biopic. David Michael Frank was the intended composer, and he has voice memos of MJ singing the track and he has written out the music. The song itself (I’m assuming in demo form) is actually copyrighted at the USCO. It would be very easy for him to complete the song as MJ would have in 2009.
