"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

sorry it was @kelley who thinks he is a guilter lol

From what I’ve seen he seems really excited and positive about the project. Nothing but good vibes my man
To be fair they think everyone here is an undercover guilter 🤣

Anyway been a while since I've spoken in here, this 2 part report sure is creating discourses outside the MJ fandom, I've been seeing everyone discuss it, which means that this biopic is still a thing that everyone knows about which is good.

Personally I'm fine with a 2 parter if done correctly, I feel like this report has made everyone so overdramatic, we get to see Jaafar twice on the big screen 🙏😭

If the rumors are true, they can’t even use a re-recorded clip from that f- - ker!
You know what... I say **** it and do it anyways and let the poor bastard come forward and try to make us believe that his father was a good and honest man. I mean seriously, other than Jordan nobody could really do it, right? He would have to come out of the closet. Would he do it?

I say do it and proudly take the consequence!! This recording is a piece of some hot steaming XXX and it should be exposed to the world!!! This is the last time the Estate could do it and they should!!! That recording will never get another oportunity to be exposed to the mainstream crowds like that!!

The modern journalism is dead if the only opportunity for the truth to be seen by general public is a blockbuster movie.
Journalism is dead regardless!! But that is not the point anymore. This movie is a massive oportunity!! With all the enormous happenings nowadays journalism definitely does not consider it a priority to research Michael's setup and the erroneous public condemnation. This movie will be seen by many, many, many people. Parents and grandparents will bring the young generation into the movies. A front-on presentation of the scam for what it was, including the audio will be entering public collective perception whether you want it to or not. People will talk about it, it will gain a lot of attention. This is the opportunity, the Estate should by no means chicken out!!

Assuming there are two parts, what would be a good place for a cliffhanger in part 1?

My suggestion would be this infamous recording by Evan Chandler:
I've been very reluctant when people suggested using the allegations as the cliffhanger because of the risk that people might leave the movie theater thinking that Michael was guilty and then not bother to watch part 2, but if they end it with Evan's recording, which would make it clear that Michael was innocent, then that might actually work.

Where is the announcement!? We Are in the week of the First „Release“

Who said there would be an announcement?
Maybe it's the CinemaCon thing?

At CinemaCon Lionsgate said something like, 'We're working on it, we'll have updates soon' (it was mentioned in John Campea's livestream). Otoh, from the other John Campea video, when he said he'd been talking to two people close to the production, he said there would be an announcement, possibly in the next couple of months, to confirm whether the film will definitely be in two parts and when it will be released. CinemaCon was 3 weeks ago so I suppose it's no surprise some people are wondering about the announcement. That said, there was nothing to suggest we'd hear anything around the time of the original release date.

I'm not expecting anything anytime soon. :)

If you are talking about 'public perception whether you 'like it or not', I personally don't believe a documentary, series or movie can alter what LN did: **** with your emotions. So tbh the only thing I can think of to counter the subconsious 'many kids alleged him' bs, is to strike back in the exact same, visual way:

Bring all the kids that together, those that just like the accusers, hung around MJ, who slept in his room, were even more close to MJ than the accusers, and let them explain, in detail, on tape, the exact innocent things they did with MJ. I believe that could make a difference for the public eye since just facts are unfortunately not enough, that's just not how the brain works...

Brett Barnes, Macaulay Culkin, Sean Lennon, Anton Schleiter, Omer Bhatti, Gotham Chopra, Corey Feldman, Jonathan Spence and whoever else: get them on tape together to defend Michael, in that way it makes the stories of the few person who sue MJ for money really seem absurd, just by watching

Are biopics usually called blockbusters?
😲🫣

On the other hand... how manageable is it to add new music at this stage when the scenes are already filmed?
Big biopics are called blockbusters.
The song could be put just during the credits and it could be enough for a nomination.

Would it be too much to ask them to just finish the songs by staying true to what Michael had in mind for them, without "modernizing" them. I'm not too fond of strange duck sounds and whatever else they've added to them so far, I prefer the timeless sound of Michael's original version. If they could just polish them without changing them, that would be great!

I appreciate that they specified that they're songs from the Thriller, Bad, and Dangerous sessions since it'll make it easier to speculate and to pinpoint as to what songs they might be, but it's also a bit heartbreaking since it's indirect confirmation that after those albums there really isn't a lot of music left lol.

And also I'll bet my whole bank account that "Chicago 1945" is one of the songs they're at least looking into, it's a song that belongs to one of the eras mentioned and that the Estate also acquired the rights to recently. I'm still hoping that they'll surprise us and release at least 1 song that has never been heard of before or that we have no info on.

If they want an Academy Award for a song then I can't think of a leaked one tbh.. 'Dream Away' is very beautiful but lacks the personal substance..? So they might have some (unfinished) stuff that is beautiful and personal..?

If they are going to use MJ music to create new one, I hope they will use Just Good Friends as the main preset! This is the best song from Bad album, actually this is the best song Michael have ever recorded! 100 times better than Billie Jean. Stevie Wonder did a great job on this track! Such an underrated song, really

The time for Innocent Man has come. If not for the biopic, then when?
[Verse 1]
California’s lost her love for me
Seems she’s trying to convict me now
Seems her heart has turned against me now

[Pre-Chorus]
If I sail to Acapulco or Cancun Mexico
Then the odds are all against me
But god knows that I’m innocent
If I sail to Acapulco or Cancun Mexico
There the law is waiting for me
And God knows that I’m innocent

[Chorus]
If they won’t take me in Cairo
Then Lord knows where will I go
I’ll die a man without a country
And only God knew I was innocent now
If sail to Acapulco or Cancun Mexico
There the law is waiting for me
But God knows that I’m innocent

[Verse 2]
If the British try to find me then
Lord, where will I go?
Let the whole world go against me
Long as God knows
I’m an innocent man now

[Pre-Chorus]
Farewell to all my years in Hollywood
Or Farewell to all my dreams in Hollywood
Let the whole world be against me
Long as God knows I’m an innocent man

[Chorus]
Now if the British try to find me
Then lord knows where will I go?
Let the whole world try to find me
Long as God knows

[Verse 3]
Sometimes I feel just like a fugitive
I’m running for my life and deep inside I ask the question why
But I’m not running at all
I’m just healing a lonely wounded heart
The truth becomes the lie I wish I could fly away

Probably too incomplete. According to Damien only chorus vocals were recorded.
The article mentions that unfinished songs could be completed.
“Michael recorded a variety of unfinished ideas and short licks which have remained in the archives. They were either not developed or just left over from sessions to be reviewed another day. Lots of those digitized files have been reviewed and examined by the estate. And the ones, which best represent the magic of Michael, have been looked at by producers to create new tunes.

From that Mirror article posted by Fuz:

Slightly nervous as to the exact meaning of 'new tunes'. It doesn't have to be bad but ... well, I'm just nervous, that's all.
