I didn’t particularly feel “attacked”, I did feel you were projecting your personal preference onto everyone, and for anyone to “Like” your comment but then eat a pizza with meat or have a burger and fries, well, they’re hypocrites.

I’m all for eating meat. You do you and the rest of us can sort ourselves out.

And, as I stated, live and let live.

I ain’t a “Kiddo” I have atleast ten years on you.

Regarding MoFi, you’re clueless, but anyway, it is what it is.

Ngl, I'm not really the target audience either! I don't buy MoFi releases. I was seriously tempted to go for OTW and thought about it for ages but in the end decided not to do it.

I just find it a bit disappointing bc it seems like a misread (imo) of what this is all about. Michael's work gets to be treated with respect and care, the production values are really high? I couldn't be happier.

If you go back a few posts you’ll realize I did not attack anyone who eats meat. I even said I don’t care what you eat. Answering your question wouldn’t make sense. Do what you do.

Guys, the MoFi thing is a separate thing. It’s in conjunction with and parallel to anything else.

Michael’s estate was never releasing anything before the biopic which has been seen as their golden cow for quite some time now.

MoFi has never gotten in the way of any of the artists they chosen to re evaluate. It’s actually a compliment to Michael’s artistry.

I thought they would do Thriller, satisfy all of the boomers out there and move swiftly away from MJ. They haven’t, they’ve embraced him. It’s a good thing and it’s good for his reputation.

No offence, H_S, but I still think this is a completely separate thing. There are lots of releases that are done so much better than some of the stuff that MJE has done, I agree. But this thread is about MoFi which is not really anything to do with MJE.

Afaik, MoFi haven't released any Prince albums which is kind of interesting (to me!).

EDIT - but apparently they have done Elvis!

Ah!! They did do Elvis? I don’t remember that.

But if You’ed have told me a few years ago that they were going to do either MJ or Prince, I’d have bet my house on it being Prince.

Interesting, then I supposed the vinyl and SACD will be similar, and then the SACD would enough for me if that's the case.

Wait... I thought Thriller was great on both SACD and vinyl, but Off The Wall was "so-so"...



Also, I would be surprised if they actually "improve" it compare to the original 1991 CDs.

It's simply Dangerous, but on SACD, so it has better quality than you've ever heard before.

Cheaper probably just means they don't expect to see the same demand as Thriller.

I don't understand what you're saying.
  • This is not the estate
  • This release will have vastly improved sound quality over everything Sony has ever released. There is nothing "low" about this.
I haven't bought any Sony release since Xscape, and I probably never will buy any future official MJ release ever again. But this MoFi stuff is extremely important, so I will buy them whenever possible. This is the only way to preserve Michael's legacy. It's what he would have wanted.
 
Is anyone aware of any Euro stores to get this? I got Off The Wall and Thriller from jpc.de but it's not listed yet.

T40, scream compilation, off the wall doc, TII10 ?

The strategy is to throw shit at us and put a good one in between every few years so we stay quiet.
 
Just pre-ordered it, Dangerous is my fave album, I can't wait to hear the new jack swing songs, the snare samples, the non humanized programmed tambourine etc. Dangerous was recorded in QSound after all!

I never read too much into them because I knew I was happy enough to stay with the SACD, but I read that Russ who does the podcast was a big fan of them and they really hit the mark.

Buy the good one in between.
And don’t buy the ones you don’t like.

But don’t school the forum on this decision.
It’s up to everyone.

Especially if it’s about a quality product, like the MoFi releases.
