Thank God I'm not alone because wtfYeah, I’m with you. I love SPYHO dearly, but the demo just doesn’t do anything for me.

these white lies will always exist, as it adds mistique and a "modernness" to MJ.There’s someone on Instagram, about 600k followers, that has uploaded a video with audio of an AI version of Palestine Don’t Cry - not only is she claiming that the audio is real, but she’s saying that it was replaced on HIStory “at the very last minute” by Earth Song. She also says that Earth Song was written after Palestine because it was too controversial.
Completely made up of course, but everyone in the comments takes her word for it. I left a comment to try and clear up the misinformation (Earth Song written in 1988, Palestine in 1993 - as well as the fact that the latter probably wasn’t even recorded, nevermind being “replaced” by Earth Song at the last minute). I was immediately blocked.
Anyway, it made me think about the original title of this thread - “end the confusion about unreleased songs” - and made me realise that people will make up, and have others believe, almost anything without proof.
Who said it was from Brian May?I'm thinking about both leaked tracks from that Freddie session.
Both demos, SoS & Tmbmtltt, were supposedly sourced from Brian May - which would mean they're day-mixes made by Brent Averill and given to Freddie.
So to this day, we haven't heard the Bottrell mix of SoS MJ was fond of.![]()
You’re right in that regard, but I think part of the mystique with MJ was that he also tried to keep a lot of his political views to himself, as to not alienate portions of fans (think not releasing Abortion Papers, for example)these white lies will always exist, as it adds mistique and a "modernness" to MJ.
close enough welcome back Nathan Jay
Newly created YT channel, single video upload. Idk, could be an ai generated snippet.
Is this real?
Since the song does not have more vocals than the ones we already have, I'd say it's fake.
Is this real?
Impersonator, Marcus WilliamsDoes anybody here know the original source for the solo "demo" version of "Joy"? Backing vocals isolated from the released Blackstreet version? Impersonator? Judging by what I hear I'd assume it's the former.
Tbf, the leaked mix was posthumously restructured by Porcaro. We haven't heard Michael's Bad era mix.Chicago 1945 is still a great song, the issue with it is the Hook. Not that it's not catchy, but it loses steam. You can hear the first time he sings it at full strength and it sounds great. But every time after he sings it in a lighter falsetto tone, it's not as strong.
If they spliced the full vocal take in then the song would retain it's energy and bite.
It still soundswhen streetwalker leaked everyone was like "ewww.. sounds so awful it can only be a fake" now people are like "it's better than released".
We have no clue what Buffalo Bill is like. It might be a dud for all we know. After all, it did fail to make Victory. So who knows. But as it is, there are some exceptionally strong outtakes in just the 80s alone. Full vocal takes, quite interesting songs for what they are.
Hot Street
Niteline
Dream Away
Buffalo Bill
Chicago 1945
Throwing Your Life Away
Imagine all of those on one disc. With a couple extra songs. Compare that to the collection on Xscape? That would remind everyone of MJ's immense talent.
Thanks for reminding me then. That's 8 songs of potential strength. We have no clue what Buffalo Bill is like. It might be a dud for all we know. After all, it did fail to make Victory. So who knows.
Wouldn't be surprised if Tomboy and What You Do To Me are stronger songs.
Yeah I'm not expecting "Buffalo Bill" to be anything crazy since the song clearly got shelved and was never brought back again thoughout MJ's career, it probably turned out to not be up to standard. Nowadays I try not to overhype myself over any unheard song (I fail at this) so I don't end up feeling disappointed once I hear it, the songs I did enjoy a lot were songs I thought nothing of anyway lol.We have no clue what Buffalo Bill is like. It still sounds. The leak is clearly not a legit studio material.
You know what would help? I can totally hear in my head how a bridge might sound, it'd add some variety to the tune that just keeps repeating.Chicago 1945 is still a great song, the issue with it is the Hook. and denoised lolIt is though. It was probably just transferred onto a cassette.
here's the thing though, if it was de-noised it's no longer legit studio material, it's been tampered. That's the point and the reason most of us complain about the quality...and denoised lol
its still the legit song, just not the legit filehere's the thing though, if it was de-noised it's no longer legit studio material, it's been tampered. That's the point and the reason most of us complain about the quality...
It doesnt come close to 2001 for me tbh. Its good, but different.when streetwalker leaked everyone was like "ewww.. sounds so awful it can only be a fake" now people are like "it's better than released"
Yes it is actually the best version. I mean it could be sped up a little. But i loved this the most when i heard it. Love the synth..

The 1988 version doesn't even sound the way that it used to for me lolIt doesnt come close to 2001 for me tbh. Its good, but different.
It was considered for Xscape so I assume the Estate has it.Do we have any confirmation that MJ's version of Joy is in the possession of anyone? And I remember somebody saying it sounded like a disco track, which would not match the Blackstreet version.
