The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

That’s the biggest irony. Fans criticized (including
Me) them changing the logo but most fans loved the Xscape (excluding me) album (remix) versions.
The only remix from Xscape that I think is good is APWNN, it legit sounds awesome. The rest are just EDM messes. I honestly can't believe that Chicago of all songs is climbing the ranks in streams and is more streamed than songs like BoW and Bad lmfao. Its pretty bad and I've never been a fan of the original either

You learn something new everyday, didn’t even consider Earth Song to be conceived in the late 80’s . I’ve never heard this in my life , those vocals sound BAD era so I assume this is real?

I always associate Earth Song with the mid 90s. 😳

It was first conceived in 1986 and a demo was recorded in 1988. More demos would follow between 1989 and 1990. The song was finally finished in 1994

You gotta read the Vienna story, how the song was born, such an fascinating one.

Great read, thanks!

Funny how we all have different opinions. I think the APWNN remix on Xscape is terrible. It's basically a lazy ripoff of Leave Me Alone.

The remixes to Chicago, Loving You, and Xscape, I think were all well done.

The fact that it interpolates Leave Me Alone is why I think its good.
Xscape is way overdone, Chicago isn't good, and Loving You takes everything that made the original good and threw it away

Some, fans. Not all of us spent time worrying about something like that,

Question that’s probably been asked and answered elsewhere: why did MJ stop working at Hayvenhurst? Did the Jacksons move, or was he just tired of working around them? I always thought it odd that he up and ditched it after Bad, but never really took the time to find out why.

I know I could Google this, but I trust people on this board more than random results online lmao.

He bought Neverland Ranch in 1988 and had no further use for Hayvenhurst. The Westlake sessions and resulting tour took up most of his time anyway so it was largely empty after January 1987. Whenever he did enter the studio pre-June 1989 it was usually through studios others owned (read: Wonderland Recording for Stevie Wonder's "Get It;" Smoketree for the earliest seed for Dangerous and the Streetwalker remix; Ocean Way for Throwin' Your Life Away...possibly).

(correction: completely forgot that he recorded his vocals for "Get It" in Yokahama and was absent when Bottrell did his stuff at Smoketree)

Guys I came across something very interesting, I found a video of a fake snippet of Crack Kills, and I found a comment by KingOfAura , in which he says that there is a real snippet out there(???), is he talking about the “you’re such a loser” snippet? Or is he just trolling? I found it odd that he said that on a random fake snippet

He did record his vocals for Get It in Tokyo. Smoketree's Bill alone messing around with Michael's tapes.

That definitely makes sense, but it still boggles the mind, especially since he didn’t then build a comparative studio at Neverland. I know it became easier later on when technology advanced and they were able to make portable rigs, but I’m still very surprised at this.

By rule of thumb, Michael's main engineers for recording ideas, demos or songs (actual album sessions not taken into account) were from

1979 to 1981 John van Nest
1982 to late spring of '83 Brent Averill
Spring/summer '84 Brian Malouf
post Victory tour to 1997 Matt Forger
1998 to 2009 Michael Prince

it's totally weird if you worry about a logo that was changed but when they change his whole music it's fine :D
Music that he comfortably left in the vault for up to 40 years, not even including it on his paper of songs to revist (except maybe a couple)

Versus altering his magnum opus, arguably the greatest piece of art made in the 20th century at least

But okay.

That doesn't mean anything and surely isn't an excuse for allowing the Estate to let people "rape" Michael's art.

Exactly...

and if you still do it then at least don't put a documentary out with the producers saying stuff like "when i was in studio i felt that MJ gave me his thumbs up from heaven". At least be honest about shit.
