The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

With full respect to MJ’s incredible collaborators, I don’t take their subjective opinions on his work beyond a grain of salt. Just because they loved it doesn’t mean I will, and vice versa. It’s nice hearing their thoughts but I personally don’t see the value in shifting my expectations for a song just because one person says it’s good or bad.

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but I think Damien Shields is unreliable when it comes to how advanced the vocals in demos are. He often mentioned unreleased songs that he heard as largely mumbled. For example, Damien said the verses to Rocker are pure nonsense mumbling, but from what we heard it is clear there are words there that tie together. To me TMO has shown that what sounds like incomprehensible mumbling at first often conceils actual lyrical content that somewhat makes sense. I think my takeaway from TMO is a better understanding of Michael's songwriting process. To me it sounds like he was piecing together the lyrics by the phonetic sound of the words and slowly making sense of the narrative, probably over the course of different takes and that he was more concerned with getting the right energy and sound across

Rocker's description was on point. The lyrics are incomprehensible. The only difference of the version he heard was the vocal mix. The version he listened had a weird echo. I think Motif clarified this.

I think Damien heard demos at the US Copyright office and not everything there is the latest versions of songs.

He's always made clear, he's talking only on specific versions he actually had heard himself, and he's even said different mixes he hasn't heard could exist.

Like SmoothGangsta has said thrice now, we really gotta stop with the personal call outs and mid-thread arguments. If you have personal beef, please take it to the PMs. If you want to correct any misinformation, please do so without provoking or fighting with other users.

I understand some people on here aren’t fond of one another, which is totally fine. But for the sake of the forum, let’s just keep it civil :)

I think people start stuff on here only because they talk on here like it's discord, and it's a community website lmao.

That's some very deep research you've done. Do you have trackers for The Jacksons and Michael or is it just Janet?
Thanks for your patience @SeriousFX! I'm currently editing my Motown era tracker and adding some of the known leaked titles. I wanted to mainly focus on the officially released material. Also, I'm beginning to add some Steeltown era songs (I personally don't care much for those songs).

Also currently editing the Janet, Michael, and The Jacksons (Epic era) trackers.

Speaking of leaked songs, there's this suspicious sounding leaked Jackson 5 song called "Superman". Again, it sounds suspicious, as I feel that his voice is a bit TOO mature sounding, even for a Moving Violation outtake. Anyway, two versions have been uploaded (the second one is probably extended using AI). What are your guys' thoughts on the first snippet?

It’s so obviously AI. a shame cuz that is a smooth song.

AI for sure but like Jay said, it's a smooth song and sounds like something they would've actually recorded

This MLK Leaker guy is a troll channel and absolute weirdo. He has only leaked one semi-real thing which was a low quality seminar edit of Family Thing that included the missing parts of the track he got off of a snake I passed the edit to lol. This Superman track in particular is very clearly AI generated.

Who was it that said MJ played the most amazing piano ever on some version of Don't be Messin' Round? (despite not being able to play piano properly)

I think it was Forger, and I haven't forgotten that one.
