"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

According to industry sources, promotion for the Michael movie is expected to officially begin during the 2026 Grammy Awards, airing Sunday, February 1st. While details are being kept tightly under wraps, insiders suggest that a dedicated segment for the biopic is planned and that it will feature something far bigger than a standard trailer drop.

There's no confirmation other than the biopic hitting theaters this April.
It's funny but the movie has been in the making for such a long time that to me it was normal to think of it as of something that will happen next year. Now that you write this year... for a moment I thought, wait, is it this year already?!

Hmm, something far bigger than a standard trailer drop?? I wonder what that could be... A greatest hits performance? By whom? Jafaar?? A 2026 version of the MTV 2009 tribute, but with Jafaar instead of Janet?

the brand new song for the biopic ?

Branca's holding a speech at the Grammy's.😂
...Gosh, the sad part is that wouldn't even surprise me. :ROFLMAO: You know, sometimes, it's individuals like him that make me regret that people have stopped throwing rotten tomatoes at public figures who abuse their position. Say what you will about the Ancient Romans, but they understood the impact of a "good" food riot (My joke is not intended to make light of the plight of Ancient Romans though). Will repost this oldie but goldie 9gag pic (my favourite button is, of course, the bottom right one).

I hope its not Jafaar trying to recreate the Motown 25 Billie Jean peformance.
That would be incredibly cringe and on brand if I'm honest.
Hmm, seriously though... would it really be that bad? I mean what are the alternatives? A look-a-like? Or plain unknown dancers?

That being said, such a performance by Jafaar might be an idea for when the movie has already been released. Motown 25 happened after the release of Thriller, not before.

There is a risk of it being bad. In a movie you can control everything and take as many takes as you like but not on stage. Also I'm not expecting Jafaar to be able dance just like Michael.

Of course he wont be to dance excatly like mike cuz he was oneof a kind. But im sure jafaar has praticed enough to have mj dance like movements in him

Hmm, I have no idea what a "standard trailer drop" is, but I do know some people are getting really caught up in all the bullshit.

Relax everyone. This is all just marketing nonsense.

this is not just any Biopic this is "MICHAEL" THE legend and King Of Pop"!!
Oof. I really hope the movie never uses that phrase. It's so embarrassing.

He doesn't have to, if the emphasis is on the overall magic. None of the dancers on the MTV tribute danced just like Michael, but the overall experience was still magical.

If the movie is only 3 months away....im thinking we get a trailer before the superbowl. That's too far away. I remember the lion king trailer coming out like 11 months before it's date. Smh idk wth is going on but i figure the rollout for promo will be sooner than we think!

We don't even have a composer yet, which is odd Bohemian Rhapsody doesn't really have a score as it's all/mostly Queen music but John Ottman was attached from the get-go in a supervisor/advisor role.

All that we know at this point, the trailer will come out at the Superbowl. After that, the promo will begin in full swing.
