So, us Europeans / the rest of the actual free world are basically watching America set itself up to be an enemy of the EU. Decades of peace have now been threatened by the whims of a f*cking moron that the majority of your country voted for to act as president for a 2nd time.

How do you feel currently with everything that's going on? ICE are routinely illegally detaining, injuring and now murdering innocent people.

America is now communicating with Europe in a manner that can only be described as "An Aggressor".

America has alluded to using military force to taking Greenland from Denmark - a NATO country.

People in US office just blatantly lying, making things up on the spot and denying facts on a daily basis.

What is it like where you are, and how do you feel about what is going on?

It’s worth noting there were close to 90 million eligible voters who, for whatever reason, didn’t vote in 2024.

That’s over 10 million more than either candidate got

Countries like Russia are banned from tournaments like the football World Cup. Russian and Belarusian athletes have to play without a flag in tennis tournaments. While countries like Israel, which are committing genocide, and countries like America, which are disrupting world peace, don't have to deal with any sanctions. I hate these f*cking double standards.

Absolutely right. I just thought political debates are not welcome on MJJC, but I guesss I was wrong ... very good :)

The situation in the USA, the lunatic and, I believe, very dangerous man that is Trump, and his acting insane outside of his own country have me very anxious and scared on a daily basis. I try to avoid news these days, but who can escape the media?

I lived in the USA from 1993-94 as an Au pair, and loved it so much. Returned in 1996 (for an internship) and in 1999 to visit friends. Since then, i do not recognize the USA anymore, nor do I feel the slightest urge to visit again, much to the contrary.

Same. US was always on my visit list and had hoped to go last year. Not a hope of visiting it while it acts like a toilet on the global stage.
 
Good thread, though not very relevant on mjjc.

If not from the states, I'm from Canada. I don't even know what to say about the current president or the ICE officers, its totally sick what they're doing. Its a very serious matter, and you don't send those kind of soldiers out unless you want war. Canadians in my area are scared and mad about all of it. Especially considering the fact that if there is actually some sort of violence, the Americans will kick our asses with their military. And I don't know much about the Russians, but they are defiantly trouble, and they have to be stopped.
