Hmm I always thought the MSG shows were very lacklustre. Funny how we all see things differently.

It’s just her side of the story, we never got Paul Hunter’s explanation. MJ looked horrible in 2001, and the whole point of videos is to promote album sales. It’s possible that the director thought that some sort of prosthetic, combined with clever lighting and shadows, might improve MJ’s looks. I mean, they obviously went out of their way to hide MJ’s face as much as possible in the video.
