Michael (2026) - Leaks, spoilers and rumours thread.

Very interesting, I wonder if they just mean last scene for Joe and not Michael.

Unless they’re starting with that Bad tour performance then going all the way back and ending with Victory 😬
Saw a post on Reddit theorizing that the movie starts with the Bad Tour and then it flashes back to the J5/OTW/Thriller eras, and that the movie overall would center around Michael breaking free from Joe's control which would make sense with everything we've seen from the movie thus far + with the rumor that the first script of the movie would switch back and forth between the 1993 raid and events from past eras. If true that would mean Part 1 is pretty much gonna be a rehash of American Dream lol.

I think you’re right….sadly. It will mostly focus on the Michael/Joe relationship in this movie and be exactly like An American dream.

It’s a shame because I wanted one big epic MJ movie , it just means a lot of the more Michael being larger than life persona won’t be seen in this movie and we will need to wait for a part 2.

The likes of Smooth Criminal not being shown is the trailer is because it’s not in it. It makes sense 😢

We'll get LARGER THAN LIFE and Smoothness with Part 2.

Look at it like this:
It will be like "Fellowship Of The Ring" followed by "Return Of The King" (without TTT switched in between there).
Which would mean summa sumarum (all in all) 2 billion at the box office and 15 academy award wins.
So it looks pretty promising...

i'm not necessarily mad if the the first movie is strictly pre-Bad era focused. if we want Michael's life story and psyche to be laid out and fully understood by the audience then we can't rush the Jacksons 5/early 80s era. I especially hope they take some sweet time with Juliano's scenes as well. the rest can be unpacked in the second movie. i think Jackson AAD was a brilliant movie, albeit difficult, and if what we are getting in a couple of months is a modernized rendition of that i won't complain. but again, AAD was very good and didn't shy away from the most difficult parts of Joe's character. will Michael be up to the challenge?

I predicted that the film would open with Bad and not go as far as the Bad era last week. The lack of Bad era in the trailers felt like a give away

Feels like Jacksons American Dream remake

Well i think this is the best idea if true! Thats all i want to know now. So to joe public it introduces them to Michael we knew but also even the one we dont!

I love how the campaign is relating the Michael (movie and man) to black heritage, with the teaser date, the marching bands thing, the Fuqua interview. So I would guess and hope that themes like the MTV struggle would be portrayed. But that would be out of the timeline that everyone's expecting, right?

There is no doubt at all and no matter how much this takes its all the knock on effects that make that change! I feel jaafar will show how hard it really was to be a little boy (obviously this would be younger michael) but soon after jaafar shows it. I hope it shows the shyness, vunerability of this boy that becomes the greatest and most famous man in the world.

Tell me something exaactly what do fans want of unprecedented promotion if you could do it yourself. For me i feel its building.
