"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

Saw someone linking to this article from last year on social media. Interesting quote:

"When we shot the first time we found that Michael’s catalogue is so huge, there are so many incredible songs, and we did a lot of performance. I think we were at an hour-and-a-half of just performance, without anyone saying a word of dialogue. So that’s what has led to us to try to expand the narrative."

New Rumor the film will end with the Victory tour.
If only we had something to suggest this might be absolute bollocks

One can hope that the advertising of biopic will not be damaged by the Cascio lawsuit and that the film will not record the desired numbers

I think they might recreate the moment that Mike announced he was leaving The Jacksons on the Victory Tour.

The happy dance Mike did after he quit still makes me laugh

I think it'll be more dramatic in the film
More importantly... would the "State of Shock" snippet make it into the film if so?

Pretty awesome that they are still planning a second film. Seems it has been getting positive responses so hopefully it does well and they can start work.
They were always planning it. And all the mainstream sources you all trusted and believed 100% when it came to the chandler claim have been saying there will be a part 2 for months, but you don't believe that, but you blindly believe the ridiculous claim about the chandlers

make it make sense

This should not be a spoiler so let's just get this out there.. The movie goes beyond the Victory tour, it ends in the timeframe where most are expecting.

Now, how it ends is where would throw people off. Not storyline wise, but the teaser and trailer gives an impression of something that makes people expect something that they'll actually have to wait for. Vague I know - but I must.

It's obvious it goes beyond Victory and Bad as the early promo picture shows Jaafar in the MITM outfit from Dangerous.

i just hope it's not a Bohemian Rhapsody repeat, with Bad concert opening and ending the movie. what concerned me watching the trailers was how much the plotline seemed a copy + paste of Freddy quest for independence in that movie

I wonder if the movie will be 'woke'..?

With todays identity politics there is also a danger for the truthfully aspect of MJ's story: that MJ, Joe and The Jacksons will be merely portrayed as a victims of racism and capitalism. While MJ was actually trying to transcend racial barriers and his legacy is that of someone who drew inspiration from all sources

If that was the only similarity with Bohemian Rhapsody I'd be delighted tbh....
