Ultimate Collection Content

The talk of the music industry throughout 2004 was that Nirvana were going to release "With The Lights Out" and that it was going to be the biggest selling box set ever. So I think MJ/Sony just got jealous and wanted to beat them to it. That's why it was released, and that's why it contains the random mix that it does (ie it's a direct copy of Nirvana's format).

I just wish this box set, along with all of Michael's career singles, were available for streaming.
It's an argument for owning your own music, I guess.

It derailed MJs Post-Invincible plans to a degree, and it’s definitely made posthumous releases a lot more limited. Of course I love it for what it is, but man does it not come out to a good deal in the long run.
Thinking about posthumous releases should never be considered when you're alive, ever.
