I just wish this box set, along with all of Michael's career singles, were available for streaming.

The talk of the music industry throughout 2004 was that Nirvana were going to release "With The Lights Out" and that it was going to be the biggest selling box set ever. So I think MJ/Sony just got jealous and wanted to beat them to it. That's why it was released, and that's why it contains the random mix that it does (ie it's a direct copy of Nirvana's format).

It's an argument for owning your own music, I guess.

It derailed MJs Post-Invincible plans to a degree, and it’s definitely made posthumous releases a lot more limited. Of course I love it for what it is, but man does it not come out to a good deal in the long run.
Thinking about posthumous releases should never be considered when you're alive, ever.

Depending on specific circumstances, posthumous releases should be considered when you are alive.

For example, David Bowie (knowing his health was failing at the time) carefully planned his posthumous releases in order his fans to continue getting new music from him in the following years after his death.

Wish michael thought of that

I’m actually glad a few Invincible tracks ended up on different greatest hits sets. We got You Rock My World and Break of Dawn on Number Ones, plus Butterflies and Unbreakable on TUC. I really hope Speechless gets a spot on a compilation eventually. Maybe it’ll be part of the second soundtrack album for the sequel?
