"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

I feel like the movie isn't gonna have much in terms of drama and that's why they haven't been showing much in the trailers besides bits of performances, most we'll probably get in terms of dramatization is Joe's abuse, Michael's vitiligo, the plastic surgeries and not much else. The Variety article literally confirmed that the movie focuses heavily on the music so what we've been seeing on the teasers is probably all there'll be to it.

#Berlin is getting ready for the Premiere of the and it's Fan Celebration @stareh_ct

The biopic confronts a broad public with the physical abuse he suffered at the hands of Joseph. Do you think some people will draw a parallel to the abuse allegations?

What happens later is all explained by what happens at the start. I think things have worked out accidentally quite well for them.

I feel like that one TV spot with Joseph was better than all of the trailers + teasers combined. If you only saw the trailer you'd almost think it's just a remake of the short films or something. Not much actual story.

I have to agree , the actual story feels quite hollow based on the trailers. If this is indeed the case expect a major panning from the critics

That final trailer has to be one of the worst I’ve ever seen. If that’s supposed to sway people who are on the fence about going to see if they won’t.

It's kinda what I was saying last week. Accurate recreations of concerts and music videos is not what biopics are all about. That doesn't make it a good movie. If I want to watch Wembley, or know how they made the Thriller video, then I'll watch Michael do the real thing.

Yeah we have to. That amount of views doesn't seem usual at all when looking at the recent interviews on The Tonight Show channel. Its good seeing that people are interested.
Again, I ask you, what's more important to you: enjoying the movie, or celebrating how many views an interview got on YouTube?

I'll just repeat that so you can understand how absolutely pathetic it is - would you prefer to enjoy the movie, or to celebrate how many views an interview got on YouTube?!?

What next, you're gonna make a note in your diary of the date when this set a record for the interview with the most views eveerr?

Jaafar Jackson's interview on The Tonight Show has hit ONE MILLION VIEWS in less than 24 hours!
Oh wow, really? That's truly amazing. I'm very impressed. It must mean the movie is brilliant.

Let me go put the interview on loop another 6 times, just so it gets even more views.

Why are theaters already releasing merch for the movie and it's not out yet , can someone explain it to me
The same reason the Chandlers made the accusations.

I find it cheap and tacky.

wasn't there some kind of legal issue with portraiting certain persons, when it comes to the 1993 chapter?
Ask yourself what a 2027 movie will legally be allowed to show that a 2026 movie isn't allowed to show.

That's an easy one:
1 They could sign a new agreement with Chandlers that allows Estate to show anything they want to.
2 They could change as many little details as they should to avoid any suing without losing the general idea.
3 They could skip 1993 case and show 2005 (I think that after the biopic's success Netflix will produce TV series in "American Crime Story" style about the whole 2005 trial).

Both. Its was just a forum post about being happy that it got many views.

That's an easy one:
I think you missed part of my question. Why would anything you said apply to a movie released in 2027, but would not apply to a movie released in 2026? Is there gonna be a law change I don't know about?

Both. Its was just a forum post about being happy that it got many views.
I asked before and nobody was able to answer: do you get excited about sales figures for the new flavour of Pepsi? Or about how many views a Pepsi ad got? Do you get excited about profit margins for a company making leather jackets? Or about how many views an advert for jackets got?

This isn't a Pepsi forum, it's a Michael Jackson forum. We are Michael Jackson fans!

Don't get me wrong, I want a great movie that I enjoy personally. I also want a great movie that others enjoy too. Expectations are high so the movie better bring it.

But I also want to see despite all the media BS, despite LN, despite the negativity... Michael at the top where he belongs. Number one albums, number one singles, number one movie. And the only way to judge that it through figures.

I want the Dan Reeds, James Wades, Cascios of the world to see that they lost. They didn't destroy a legacy that should be celebrated the world over.

I think you're missing the point on purpose just to be pedantic.

Jaafar has done a great job here, he really has done his homework credit to him.

Not a fan of the editing and the cuts. That end clip of Branca watching Michael makes me extremely nervous
Yeah the angles in the cuts lose the energy of the track they make things feel like they’re dragging a bit. And this is just a nitpick, but Jaafar’s lip syncing is a bit off as well. Especially on the part where he’s about to break into the moonwalk and says “Hee” his mouth is wide open, almost as though he did a “hoo” twice. Just looks a little odd.
