Dolby Atmos Remixes of all albums to be released

I mean for literally a hundred years, almost all AM equipment has been in mono, including what you have in your car. The same signal goes to both speakers. You don't need to collapse anything because it was mono already.

The defining feature of Dolby Atmos is that it's a multi-channel format. You can't hear Dolby Atmos in a format that isn't compatible with it.

Furthermore, the maximum sampling rate is equivalent to about 12 kHz. The quality is extremely poor. It's really not worth talking about Dolby Atmos in the same sentence.
Ohhhhh, when I say AM I am referring to Apple Music. Sorry for the confusion lol

I think by AM they meant Apple Music
Well, AM has always meant AM, lol.

Surely that's not what somebody would mean?

Amazon Music
OMG... Yeah, people are going to have to be extremely careful here. Maybe we're gonna have to go back to calling them iTunes and Prime.

Oh wow. Yeah. Um, so we've just been off on a big tangent.

In any case, streaming barely does an adequate job with stereo music. There's really no point in trying anything multichannel. Especially not when there's a phone or headphones involved. In both cases the whole point of Atmos is completely destroyed.

If Dolby really cared about sound quality, they'd make it so Atmos was not available on any streaming service and not available via headphones or any other stereo device. But of course they're more interested in getting paid for "subscriptions", so they water down the quality of their format. :-(

Yeah haha, but we were referring to the stereo mix of Jam. On AM, the quality of Jam is bad but that is how the original mix of Jam sounds on CD anyway which is unfortunate. Collapsing the mix down to mono only enhances the low quality more. I say this because I tend to only have 1 ear bud in at work and always put my phone in mono mode to not miss anything so this was an immediate thing I noticed when playing Dangerous for the first time. It sounds like it’s either a phasing issue or the low quality samples covered up by other tracks when the song is playing in stereo. It’s hard to say.

On Spotify they must be using a remaster because it sounds way better and I’ve never had that problem of low fidelity until I came over to AM.

Listening via headphones/AirPods isn't the proper way to listen to these, though. On actual speakers, it sounds great, and with AirPods, it is kinda mid

The majority of people will listen on AirPods. Especially young fans won’t have a Dolby atmo sound system at home….
Other Dolby atmo mixes (thriller) sounding great on AirPods…. Why not the other MJ albums?

I mentioned before, once they added Dolby Atmos to Dangerous on AM, they seemingly fixed the normal stereo version of Jam. As for whether or not the rest of the tracks are now sourced from something else, I have no clue though

Holy crap, I knew nothing about this. Today right after waking up I had the most random urge to play She Drives Me Wild (of all songs) on my iPhone and was totally floored by the audio. I was like, "Am I going crazy or is this a new mix?! Why do Michael's vocals sound so prominent now -- like they're slapping me in the face?!" I've been going through the rest of the Dangerous album with the same wonderful bewilderment.

This Dolby Atmos remaster has given me a whole new appreciation for the album. Finally, Michael's voice is no longer buried in the mix.

There are moments listening to the new Dangerous mixes where it almost sounds like I'm listening to an a cappella, and I mean that in a good way. I can't get over how well they managed to bring Michael's vocals to the forefront of the mixes. Suddenly I'm placing this album on the same pedestal as Off the Wall, Thriller, and Bad. Songs I used to dismiss as "filler" (Why You Wanna Trip on Me, She Drives Me Wild, Can't Let Her Get Away) are a total treat to listen to now.

Teddy using a Vocoder and those different vocal takes in She drives me wild are quite interesting!

The mixes on dangerous in atmos sound a little funny, or is it me?
In the closet was the worst one. Some vocal takes were off beat and if i recall correctly, you could hear noise reduction on one of the sentences by Mystery Girl.

As for the other mixes:
A reason as to why some elements/instruments sound so different could be not having the latest stems or because they used different technology back then. It surely won't sound the same as it did in the 90s.

I love the Dolby Atmos version of Dangerous. Yes some sounds odd at times - specially In the closet with "Mystery Girl" as many have pointed out. But listen - if you don't like it - turn Dolby Atmos off. It's as simple as that.

I love the new mixes - Michaels vocals are so much more clear and front and center - I can actually hear/understand what he says now lol. She Drives Me Wild rap verse was so muddled before - but now it's crystal clear. Love it. Can't way for History and Invincible. :)

Hi. Is anyone here able to listen to Bad in Dolby Atmos on Apple Music? In my region, the Atmos mixes for Dangerous and Off the Wall arrived on April 24, but Bad still hasn’t come out. Dangerous wasn't mentioned in the leaks that came out two months ago, but I knew for sure that Bad was coming. Chronologically, it made sense. If some of you can listen to Bad on Apple Music normally without using any bugs or create station thing, that means it’s coming for me too. I can wait.

Man, She Drives Me Wild was originally way funkier. Makes me sad that Michael muted and buried so many elements of that track. His approach to the mixes during that time really must've been "make it hit harder and less funky".

He did the same mistake during Invincible sessions (Threatened, 2000 Watts, Privacy)

I think he just liked it. He wanted the bass more than the layers.
I feel like the guitar sound in Threatened should've been pushed to the forefront, but unfortunately, it's way too quiet. 2000 Watts did the same thing- the most interesting parts of the track are buried in the back, while Teddy's annoying backing vocals are front and center. I wish they had dialed him back a bit instead.

Are this mixes with different vocal takes!? WYBT and she drives me wild has extended vocals!?

Can you answer that folks? Is Bad Atmos mix available for your region or not?
