So it hasn't been one week in the States yet...us box office ( wednesday):
( $7,239,644)( $123,225,941)( 6 days).
The way they mixed the song, they've put something in it I swear. It just thumps through the speakers. I remember saying before going I hope they remember MJs phrase "hurt me" and boy did they. LOVE IT!!!Closing the film with Bad live was a masterstroke. Every viewing I've been to everybody has loved that part and been grooving along
It's ok. If you don't understand how the website works then it's not worth trying to be upset by it.How does the site work? Do they have polls? How is there such a differnce in % (38% and 96%) and what do these numbers refer to?
I just really don't understand why most people seemingly don't give a shit about sound quality of music they play at home.I was just glued to hearing one of my favourite songs live as loud as possible.
I just hope they realize that the only reason why people are happy with the first movie being a "celebration" of Michael is because this was accurate for the time period covered by the first part. But this would NOT be acceptable for a part 2. They need to find a way to put the truth out there about 1993, just skipping it won't do. This is their one chance to correct the false narrative and let the public hear the Evan Chandler recorded phone tape, so if they don't do EVERYTHING in their power to make that happen, they can expect a lot of angry people. When they say, "We've tried, but the settlement agreement..." I just want to tell them exactly what Michael told Walter Yetnikoff when they wouldn't play his video on MTV: "You haven't tried hard enough." In the best case scenario, they need to either find a loophole or get Jordan Chandler to agree to be depicted. In the worst case scenario, Graham King should do a separate short film on his own to cover just the 1993 allegations without the estate. But skipping the Evan Chandler recorded phone call is not okay with me, not when it is the strongest piece of evidence that Michael was innocent. If the estate cares at all about Michael's legacy, they will not let that phone call be forever buried as if it never existed. You're a lawyer, Branca, find a way.Not really, the first film ended before they even happened. If they make a second one and just totally ignore it I don't really see the point.
It seems they cannot dramatise it in any way so not sure what they're gonna do.
It was crazy mate, I knew Bad was going to the finish the biopic and the build up is the same as the Bad Tour, but man if it didn't hook me in.The way they mixed the song, they've put something in it I swear. It just thumps through the speakers. I remember saying before going I hope they remember MJs phrase "hurt me" and boy did they. LOVE IT!!!

Irgendwie widersprichst du dichYou don’t really get any closer to understanding him as a person.
there are multiple scenes of him watching TV, playing with Bubbles or reading Peter Pan.
If a simple dentist like Evan Chandler managed to get around the settlement agreement so easily, it would be embarrassing for a lawyer to say, "Oh well, there's nothing I can do."Well f**king said.
Try harder.
What about Diana Ross and Janet Jackson did not agree to be in the movie don't you get??So I finally got around to watching the movie. Jaafar was great and the whole cast did a good job—it’s always awesome to celebrate Michael and his legacy. But honestly, the storytelling felt pretty flat. You don’t really get any closer to understanding him as a person.
Leaving out key parts like his complicated JW background, Diana Ross, Janet (basically acting like one of the world’s biggest stars didn’t exist), We Are the World, feels like a big gap. Instead, there are multiple scenes of him watching TV, playing with Bubbles or reading Peter Pan.
I also don’t think the movie works well if you’re not into his music. A biopic like Bohemian Rhapsody is enjoyable even if you’re not a Freddie Mercury fan, but this one feels more like a two-hour MJ commercial without much real depth.
Sorry guys, just being honest.
lol. Apparently it was not ok for me, that´s why I asked. It's ok. If you don't understand how the website works then it's not worth trying to be upset by it.
I know Janet didn’t agree to be in it (didn’t know about Diana though), either way as a viewer it still leaves a gap in the story. And yeah, this is just my opinion and I don't completely disagree with the critics on this one. The audience scores just shows how many fans MJ still hast (IMO!) which is of course great. What about Diana Ross and Janet Jackson did not agree to be in the movie don't you get??
What do you know about it's not enjoyable, if you're not into his music? You are, so you can't speak for people who aren't.
I get that those moments were part of his life and show his isolation from the real world, but there was so much more depth to him. His life and personality were way more interesting than just showing him watching TV or escaping into stuff like that (or turning Branca into one of the main characters). It just feels like the movie barely scratches the surface, which is a shame—because it could’ve been a great chance for non-fans to actually understand him better. It’s kind of a missed opportunity.Irgendwie widersprichst du dich![]()
The CEO of Lionsgate said in the video with Belloni that they are checking viewers' comments very closely to see what they want for Part 2. I think we should make it clear in comments that in part according to the timeline of Michael's life, the accusations have to be part of the film and 2 part can not only be a celebration of his music.I just hope they realize that the only reason why people are happy with the first movie being a "celebration" of Michael is because this was accurate for the time period covered by the first part. Pre-sales for this weekend on fire for both #TheDevilWearsPrada2 debut & #MICHAEL’s 2nd frame. Many who didn’t experience the party last weekend playing catch up along with repeat viewers for the biopic, while the female leaning comedy is generating a Barbie-esque party revival. Several screenings selling out or just about to for both films.Hollywood has been trying to recreate #Barbenheimer for so long, and just like in 2023, a new event might be coming together organically when no one was looking.#MichaelWearsPrada might be happening just in front of our eyes!Let’s see how the weekend will actually pan out though, but regardless, 2026 has been the most exciting the US #BoxOffice has felt in a long time. There’s genuine momentum building up weekend after weekend!
