"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

I agree with you unfortunately, he was also like the fifth character/actor announced before any of the siblings or quincy for example.

I just hope Prince and other family members agreed with the script and John didnt have too much of influence on it..
Prince has already confirmed that he is excited about the script and is very involved in the biopic.

I really did not want a big involvemt from Michael`s sibilings (Randy, Janet, Rebbie, Latoya, Jermaine...not thankyou). Jackie will be ok.

Thanks for the pictures!

Looks like they have blacked up young Michael , the actor was much lighter before.

That last shot btw that's the J5 🤩 , looks authentic from the back.

Looks like they went too far with the makeup. They made him darker than nia and nia is not light skinned woman. They should have matched his makeup to her skin tone.

The new Bob Marley biopic is being slated in the reviews , generic , paint by numbers biopic that offers nothing new etc.

That's the fear I have about this movie but with the amount of scandal involved with Michael it's bound to be a bit different.

i think Michael will be the make or break for biopics, if MJ is seen as "bland" then that kills the biopic genre for a while, its a fear people have had since Bohemian Rhapsody's release.

The fact it has gotten to the point that Weird Al is parodying the tropes of Biopics in his own is a little worrying.

Oh definitely!

Michael's life was absolutely mental, it was a circus , the madness, hysteria wherever he went.

I do hope we get glimpses of this chaos through a brace yourself style montage within the film.

The fact that this film will apparently face the allegations head on is an indication that it will be different. Throw in the plastic surgery, skin colour changing and the wonderful music - it could be incredible.

Branca as the villain would be perfect for the movie

@wingheart
MJ explained to me the reason he was so angry with Branca was because Branca was working more on behalf for Sony than for him. MJ told me Branca was forging and re-writing contracts that tied MJ to Sony, when he wanted to leave and end his relationship with Sony.

Can we stop this Karen Faye-quotes. If anything she should talk about her doing. For example working for Gloria Allred who he really did everthing to destroy Michael and later justifying she is a sweet woman does really not speak for herself. Also her behvoiour in the TII -time. There are E-Mails how happy she was just in time for Michaels death about the tour, later she acted as all the people who worked around Michael in the TII-time are devils and only she was a angel.

I was hired by a company to do several court shows. I worked on the first show without any knowledge of the others that would be added. I must admit I was very surprised to hear about Gloria Allred being added. I was extremely conflicted. I decided within myself, that it would be a challenge that I was adult enough to confront. Upon meeting her the first time, I did not reveal my connection to Michael. I wanted to know her better. She is a very sweet and intelligent woman who has fought her entire life for the underdog. I finally revealed myself, and she could have reviled me as much as I had hated what she did to Michael. We have had many debates regarding that time. I do understand that her heart and primary concern was with Michael's children...which it is for all of us now. There is a lot more regarding this, but not enough room on Twitter.

Civil rights attorney, Gloria Allred says the public shouldn't forget molestation allegations that were made against Michael Jackson, despite the fact that he was cleared of all charges at trial. Allred asserts that Michael Jackson's legacy will include the tawdry accusations that the pop singer molested young boys.

"Michael Jackson had the profile of a child molestor...Neverland...was like a big amusement park for children, what child would not be attracted to Neverland? Children with whom he was associated were very vulnerable," the powerhouse attorney told Radar Live on Monday

But now enough of the OT- in this thread

Stop the Karen Faye quotes... Quotes Karen Faye 😂

The thing with Karen is she'll say whatever sounds right at the time. As goes for Bush. They'll say whatever suits the narrative at the time and newer fans eat it up. This kind of person will say anything to stay relevant because their whole career is based on the time they had with MJ. It's sad that post 2009, you can take every quote with a pinch of salt.

I completely agree plus have you noticed all these ex employees always claim that Michael was their best friend?

Not necessarily in these quotes but they always say the same stuff. I'm not sure if deep down Michael could trust any of them, no wonder he was paranoid.

https://www.rollingstone.com/movies/movie-news/michael-jackson-biopic-lionsgate-announced-1296360/

It's officially sanctioned by the estate & the Jackson family, and it's going to be co-produced by Graham King (AKA the producer of Bohemian Rhapsody who secured the rights to make an MJ biopic several months ago) and it's gonna be distributed by Lionsgate.

Also, Graham King is a fan who mentions that he's done his own research about the allegations and believes that he was innocent. So we've got that going for us, which is nice.

Personally, I don't think that a single 2-hour movie is enough to do justice to Michael's career, and I'd rather see the Estate focus on a project that helps vindicate MJ's innocence (e.g. Taj's upcoming Kickstarter documentary series). However, if this movie is done well and is able to improve the general public's perception of Michael in a more positive way, than it's a win-win situation.

What are your thoughts, everyone?
Words It' s officially sanctioned by estate --- NOT. Forbid. Sanctioned Forbid. You pay Michael? Pay.

After the biopic comes out and makes a billion, let's say Jafaar's portrayal of Michael a near perfect recreation of him in appearance and dancing. What should the estate do after that to continue to capitalize sales-wise on the hype? They need to do something because this would absolutely send Michael's popularity through the fucking roof even more-so than it already is.

They need more projects to capitalize on it.

Sure yeah, let him dance to some MJ songs, whatever. Id hide Jungle, personally.

Soundtrack album is probably what they'll do.

I definitely agree that they're doing that with MJ generally in his music and other stuff they're doing, like I've said, selling the idea of MJ rather than MJ himself
This happens with many posthumous careers actually. They use their entire lives like different cycles to push in different seasons, anything remotely "problematic" they downplay. And if they weren't considered a jack of all trades then they don't really get that type of acknowledgement.

Since the memorial, MJ has had the title of "Greatest Entertainer who ever lived" and that's all that he gets recognized for. Not greatest singer, dancer, writer, anything. Is it smart of the Estate to own up to it? Sure. Pretty limiting title overall though.

I think it's actually a very broad title. It includes singer, dancer and songwriter all in one.

Overall it does, but people will be quick to claim someone else as best singer, as rolling stone has shown us. Dancer, no one really takes that category though, yeah. Songwriter just depends on your tastes I guess.
