A message from one of Michael's techs on TII

Joe said that? I wonder if he just KNEW that, or if he found it out from some website or something like we did.

But anyways, if that 'jhon' is real, and these people really were instructed not to say anything about the show, then what the heck for?? In Michael's past tour rehearsals, were people instructed not to say anything??

That means, there are some who know things but cannot say anything. Whoever knows SOMETHING, (including this jhon), they better get out there and tell their story if they REALLY saw and heard these things!!!

Everyone else is able to talk about their side of the story. The chef, the doctors, the managers.

It was common for everyone involved in Michael's shows or rehearsals to sign a confidentiality agreement. This was not a unique thing for This Is It. And he wore sunglasses a lot in the past as well.

You're absolutely right.

It's a common thing to have cast and crew sign confidentiality agreements on most projects of that nature.

You saw what happened with WATW 2010. QJ said in an interview something to the fact they wanted to keep something secret but some people on the set had already been tweetering about it. So obviously, no agreement were signed there.

And wearing sunglasses at night is one of Michael's trade mark like crotch grabbing, fingers taping, etc, etc.

I do not know....

But Michael wearing glasses most of the movie was something that caught my attention too and glasses that difficult careful observation of many details involved here, something could go unnoticed. He was always a perfectionist and always very attentive to every detail. Sometimes I think he wanted to hide their eyes. The eyes say it all and as they say is the mirror of the soul and express exactly what we are feeling. I think his eyes were expressing much what he was feeling at that time and so they hid them so that people did not see what they were expressing at the time. Michael I do not feel 100% happy in the movie. There was something strange, dark and out of place. After watching the movie 4 times and the extras on the dvd, it is the feeling I have.

It's just my opinion.

I can kind of see what you are getting at. I do think that Michael was a little nervous at times in TII. He wore his sunglasses when he was nervous about something. Michael wore sunglasses as a kind of privacy thing cause everyone was always staring at him.
He didn't like to be the center of attention unless he was performing in front of an audience.
I was really suprised that they even go thim to do the O2 concert announcement. That was his least favorite thing to do, get up in front of a crowd and speak. And he didn't really know how it would go over. and he had been away from performing for so long. He seemed really nervous to me. Like I said I was suprised he did it at all. So, he may have been wearing them more becasue he was a little nervous after being out of the game for so long.

Yes....

The press conference was also to me a strange moment, dark and out of place. Yes, it was strange. I think there was a mixture of feelings and believe that nervousness too.

Michael would announce something very important that day. He would be sharing with the fans and there he was so close to them and this closeness was something that had not happened for some time. It was a great moment for Michael to look at their fans. Look in the eyes of fans at that important moment. And he was wearing glasses at the press conference. I also have the same strange feeling about the press conference. That's what I really feel.

As Michael says himself in Moonwalk, he wore shades to conceal part of him.
Why would he want to conceal himself from his fans after a decade of absence?
On such a happy occasion?
Only because the occasion to him was not that happy.
Or because that there was something there he didn't want the fans to see.

I just think he was really nervous and shy. He hated being in front of a crowd and making speeches. And he wasn't just in front of fans but the press from all over the world. It also seemed to me that the got kind of emotional during the announcement, not in a bad way but because of the great reception that the fans gave him. He may have worn sunglasses to cover up that emotion. I am not convinced that it was anything but being unsure how it would go and being nervous.
Like I said before, I am suprised he even agreed to do it. I'm not suprised that he wore sunglasses. He has worn them off and on all his adult life in situations like this.
