Anything being done in NY for Michael on 6/25?

I would love to go to a gathering with other fans on June 25th. Preferrably in NYC or on the east coast at least.

Does anyone know if anything is being done?

If not, I was thinking maybe all the fans here who are interested could light candles at the Apollo Theater on the 25th for MJ. I think it would be a good place because MJ performed with his brothers here when he was a kid and there was a big gathering for MJ last year on the 25th and the whole week when he passed.

I think the sooner we plan this, the better.

If anyone is interested, let me know.
 
I live on the east coast too, and I would love something like this. I don't know the first thing about planning a big gathering, but I would go =) I'm not too much help huh?! Maybe if more people respond we could all at least meet up somewhere.

I would go to the Apollo on 6/25 as long as the event wasn't too late (before 4pm or 5pm...maybe even 6pm). I would be willing to leave work a little early that day. I just don't want to get home when it's dark. Nice idea. :)

Wow, this place is right in my 'hood. It's too late for me though. I don't do late. Yes, 9pm is late for me to go out. :cheeky: Have a fun time.
 
Thanks for posting that MsMo! That sounds good. I think I might check that out but I def. think I want to go to the Apollo Theater earlier in the day before that event later on. The Apollo was the first place I went last year after I heard the sad news :-( and a lot of people were there actually last year.

I don't know if any of you are still interested in meeting up tho? The 25th is just around the corner, so we should plan something definite soon I think.

I wish I could go, especially to the Apollo & Spike Lee's party in August, but I don't live there.

It looks pretty good tho, I would love to go to this.

Too bad you can't make it to the Spike Lee one and the Apollo. That sux. Hopefully they have a fan gathering in your area though :).

I might be intrested, im doing stuff with a group of mj fans but were not really sure what were doing yet.
 
So I understand that the candlelight vigil will start at 8:30pm on 6/25. I would like to go but that is just too late for me (I'm sorry Michael). Duh I guess that's why they are called candlelight vigils. It's just not safe to be walking around at night alone so I'm planning to stop by the Apollo earlier that day instead.

Yes the neighborhood isn't the safest lol. Im also going to stop by earlier.
