Apparently, Man in the Mirror has sold 30 million units. Siedah Garrett was awarded with a physical plaque for the single reaching 30 million

Sigh.

According to MSNBC, "In the 12 months that followed his death Jackson sold 35 million albums worldwide".

If we assume half was in 2009 and half in 2010, that's about 18 million in each calendar year.

Is this claim of "100 million" Sony's typical approach of think of a random number and then quadruple it, then put a zero on the end?
"Jackson has sold 9 million albums in the U.S. and 24 million around the globe since his death, along with around 800,000 copies of albums by the Jackson 5 and the Jacksons. Assuming a worldwide retail sales price of $11.62 per unit... the Jackson catalog brought in about $383 million in sales. Add in 12.9 million track downloads in the U.S. over the past year, along with 26.5 million in international downloads, and you have another $34 million."
13 + 26.5 + 24 + 9 + 1.5 + 3. That's nearly 80 million just from 2009, in 2010 he sold 5 million in the United States which is less than 50% of his international sales. So yes, he sold 100 million from 2009-2012

I don't know what to say. Details are important. You can't just go around saying things that aren't true and not expect to get challenged on it.

First you said MJ sold 100 million records in 2009. Now you're saying he sold 100 million from 2009-2012.

Either way, that does not change the FACT that MITM has not sold anywhere close to 30 million copies. That's just laughable.

Please. Pretty please - can you change the title of this thread to something that's true?

Bad the album did sell 30 Million Copies. Nothing click bait there or in the poster you can clearly see in the picture.

The picture, and the thread title, both use the word "single".

What are we saying, all lies are terrible, except if the lie makes MJ look good, then it's ok?

It's not abot the bad album, it's about the mitm single

The last time this was discussed, that's what people realized. That this is a microism of the Bad albums sales. There's a poster for I Just Can't Stop Loving You that says the exact same thing.

For some reason, that point is not connecting so I'll say it again: This was about the entire Bad album, not just the single. Forget the click bait thread title.

Can you not see the irony of a poster with the name IhateTheMedia, presumably hates them for using untrue headlines as clickbait, then going on to create a thread with an untrue title as clickbait?!

It just shows a gobsmacking lack of respect for other members, and makes the whole board look bad.

Perhaps a mod can change the title to something that isn't a lie?

It's an easy mistake to make, but it's a pro MJ forum, idk what you expect when you see pro MJ content.

People do be saying whatever, you right.
