I’ve been told that the “Best of Joy” demos are the exact same as “The Toy.” One person said it sounded like MJ just re-recorded his vocals over the 1981 instrumental.

Going by what Michael Prince said and if you hear the the faint instrumental on the leaked acapella, the 2008 demo must have the same concept as the 1981 demo but I don't know, if you listen to the fan-made mixes of the BoJ acapella with The Toy's instrumental they don't fit properly. I believe that maybe the instrumental on the 2008 version has some differences, even if minimal. On the other hand by what Damien has said, the 1991 demo is the exact same as The Toy down to vocals, instrumentals and everything, the only difference being the opening line.I’ve been told that the “Best of Joy” demos are the exact same as “The Toy.” One person said it sounded like MJ just re-recorded his vocals over the 1981 instrumental.
The melody of the song is timeless and sounds ahead of its time for 1982.Reworking the song decades later, it must've had a very special meaning to him. Maybe the movie inspired him for Neverland:
There is no third verse sheet, but there are like 3 handwritten notes by MJ available online, and some of them have different lyrics from each other.Does anyone know if there's a handwritten "third verse" sheet around?
How many BOJ handwritten lyrics have you all seen?
