This is an amazing video about the creation of Say Say Say. Told by Bill Wolfer, a keyboard player who worked a lot with Michael (and The Jacksons). He was also involved in Say Say Say:

I always thought Michael and Paul McCartney created Say Say Say together. But Bill tells a different story. Yes, Michael and Paul made the melody together. The first demo on tape was just them singing, with Paul playing guitar. Then Michael took that tape ... and went his own way with it. What eventually ended up on the record, was almost a solo production by Michael. Except for the vocals of course. Paul isn't even playing bass on the track!

Very watchable video. Bill is a nice guy, by the way. Love his stories.

I didn't know ... or at least I never heard it from someone who was actually involved in Say Say Say.

BTW ... Bill also contributed to Billie Jean. This video really shows how sharp Michael was ... he remembered a specific sound Bill created while on tour, fiddling around in down time, and wanted that for Billie Jean.

Wolfer worked on all of the thriller demos that were recorded in hayvenhurst
