Controversial MJ Documentary Leaving Neverland [GENERAL DISCUSSION THREAD]

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

The letter from the Estate is great, hopefully just a beginning of their figth.

BTW it should get a extra thread, so that you don`have to search for it in this long thread.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

Just listened to the HIStory album all the way through for the first time in years.
The lyrics for Smile are supposed to be uplifting but it's such a sad song.:boohoo

I'm sorry this is happening MJ. We're trying to help out but the odds are stacked against us. They won't listen. They don't care.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

I am so tired of fan petitions and Estate letters! This has nothing to do with resistance and these things will not bring about any change whatsoever, or at least not to an extent that other activites would. So why bother with them?

Only two brave fans showed up to protest at Sundance. Bless them! But I was so disappointed that there were more police than fans there.

In my opinion there should be real action now:
1. The Michael Jackson Estate must fund and oversee a high quality film or series focused on the rumors that Michael Jackson was sexually interested in children
2. The Michael Jackson Estate should also fund and oversee a film or series highlighting the HUMANITARIAN that Michael Jackson was
3. Fans must cancel their HBO subcriptions
4. Fans should gather outside HBO headquarters and protest
5. Fans should stop arguing with haters (for their own sanity and well being!). Instead ridicule people for wanting desperately to believe that Michael would harm children. Write things like 'lol', 'fake news', 'media propaganda', 'facts matter', 'Go and Research'; use hashtags; share videos and links with information.

Now, of course, every fan does whatever they want to do and think is best. Of course! These are just my convictions and suggestions. But I feel that as fans we could be doing so much more and to better results than bickering with online trolls.

The action from now on must be much more strategic.

I agree with you.

BUT I have to say that I can't see any network broadcasting a rebuttal video after LeavingNeverland has shown. NO network would want to look they're defending a paedophile. None.
Sadly this show is convincing people beyond doubt that MJ was guilty. They're not interested in the information we have, and unless there is some bombshell nothing will change that.

I actually think that this show is getting so much traction and not being questioned because the foundations have been laid over the last 25 years. The people in charge ALREADY thought MJ was a paedo and they see this documentary as a way to finally prove it. They want the kudos for doing so.

They think MJ paid off victims.
They think he got them drunk.
They think he had child porn on his computers.
They think witnesses have come forward (McManus) telling what they really saw at Neverland.
They think he beat Bubbles.
They think he secret rooms and alarms to prevent being caught.
They think he had sex videos

To be honest I can see exactly WHY these people want to bring MJ down if they believe those stories.

MJ, the Jackson family, and the MJ Estate should have taken definitive action against these stories years ago.

The press are disgusting for what they have done and for what the continue to do, but I and others have crusaded for over 20 years against the media and nothing has changed. They do and say whatever they like with repercussion.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

Speaking as a British resident, I thought I would offer a little reassurance about Channel 4. It is not considered one of the primary channels in the same way that BBC1 or ITV is. The most popular programme that the channel hosts is The Great British Bake Off which has a huge following because it has become something of an institution. It usually has around 10 million viewers. Most other programmes struggle to get half that figure. Unless the media really decide to push this heavily before it airs, I can't see it getting that many viewers, apart from those who are particularly interested or have a vested interest. I think alot of people might look at this in their TV guide and feel they have heard it all before.

Having said that, I definitely agree that the estate / family really need to tackle this head in.

There is a 'Legal cases' Resources thread in Trials and Tribs. It's under there, with other resources relating to the R and S ( and historic) cases

The question is do they really think that. If so maybe it could be an idea to send them this, I think it’s good.

But do they really or are they just doing it anyway for money. If so will they really end up making money on that...

It’s incredibly difficult to respond to every false tabloid story out there. They will continue regardless and all you end up doing is drawing more attention to it, if the Estate or his family responded to them.

The documentary is different and needs a robust response, but each and every tabloid myth cannot have an official response.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

So Roger was not telling the truth or he was but HBO just decided to air it anyway. I guess that whole AT&T thing was nothing then.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

I think it's time for us to do an organized campaign. Set a time and a date when we will all go on twitter and tweet #BoycottHBO and include that we want fair and factual journalism, not tabloid television. And add #JusticeForMichaelJackson too. Let's make #BoycottHBO TREND!!!!!!!!!!!! Any suggestiions on date and time? We need EVERYONE on board WORLD WIDE tweeting!!!

And since AT & T now owns HBO....we need to start writing letters of complaint to At & T and put pressure on them too!!

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

On the sky news website it states that during a Q and A "Mr Safechuck added that they were not offered any money to take part in the documentary" is this correct?
https://news.sky.com/story/michael-...nd-documentary-with-new-abuse-claims-11618946

Channel 4 'Factual' film makers are not supposed to offer money to anyone who is in the middle of legal proceedings. However, since Channel 4 are not complying with ANY of their own guidance, I suppose it is anyone's guess whether HBO/ Channel 4 paid them, their families and / or their lawyers.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

why media describes it " new abuse claims " ?
As I know it's not new.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

All of this bullshit has made me dig up all of my old MJ stuff again and look at all the old memories that I put away in storage after MJ died because it was too painful to have them out and be reminded of him being gone. And I shouldn't have done it. All the happy memories just remind me even more that MJ is gone and will never come back and I've just been crying for a day because I miss him SO MUCH. I just wish I could go back to like 1999 or even March 2009 when everything was alright, and just have one of those days be my "Groundhog Day" that I will live again and again for the rest of my life. You know....just keep re-living that again and again until I die and just be happy. This current world is a shitty place to live in. Just mean, money hungry people who dont care about anyone else who have no ethics or morals or digniity or class left. I want a time machine to take me back to when MJ was alive and everything was okay. The only thing I'm glad about is the fact that Michael doesn't have to experience this latest shitstorm by these evil back stabbing idiots. At least he is safe now. I just feel so sorry for his children. It breaks my heart that they have to go through this. But God is watching and one day Wade, James and Dan and those at HBO and Channel 4 and Sundance who participate in this witch hunt, as well as the tabloid writers.....one day they will all get what they deserve and a taste of their own medicine. Trust me, they will. The truth WILL triumph and justice WILL prevail. One way or the other, karma WILL come back to bite them!

Makes it sound more credible if it’s new. If they said “these are 6 year old allegations that have been dismissed in court” it wouldn’t sound as good would it?

Ok thanks for the laugh, I truly needed that.

To think that people actually pay to read this kind of...... where to find the right words.

Actually don’t mind this sort of story being printed. It’s so ludicrous that it proves tabloids will literally print anything to get clicks.
