Controversial MJ Documentary Leaving Neverland [GENERAL DISCUSSION THREAD]

I wonder if I can ask for some advice please. I am not someone who uses social media but I am a member on the Steve Hoffman music forum and have tried to challenge the allegations as much as I can.

I can argue the most of the allegations quite effectively but recently I was asked to explain the Jason Francia settlement. To be honest I had completely forgotten about this. Does anyone have any ideas on the best way to challenge this particular allegation please? Is there anything obvious that helps to discredit this case please?

I have to say that is the ONLY concern I have with Taj's documentary. Depending on when it comes out - I just don't want a hornet's nest to be kicked where this stuff is talked about and re-debated online and in the news. But I believe it'll do more good than bad it's just I dread having to re-live the allegations again.

They should sue for millions and put the money for charity. 1 euro does not hurt them, neither will they care about it.

But if they lose the case don't they have to pay the fan groups legal fees? I seem to remember 100,000 Euros being mentioned.

Thank you for this. I had previously read through this but I couldn't find anything that could really help with the argument I was having with a hater - ie the common argument that 'if he was innocent why did he settle these cases'. I can argue the Chandler case but I am less knowledgeable on the Francia case.

Good explanation of the reasoning behind the Francia settlement on this page - https://themichaeljacksonallegations.com/2018/09/23/jason-francia-summary-version/
More in-depth details about the case on this page - https://themichaeljacksonallegations.com/2016/12/26/jason-francia/

Fans will label him as being set up and lied on, not the wider public or the history books. His name and legacy is permanently and heavily tainted, unless the truth comes out.

Anna, do you mean if one of the accusers comes forward? Or do you think there is a wider conspiracy involving others (I've seen David Geffen mentioned a few times but I don't know anything about him)?

I was thinking more about accusers. But Michael was and remains a threat to the corrupt elite, there is no doubt about it. The magnitude of his influence and ability to unite people of all ages, nationalities, races, religions. I don't know if there is a big, unified conspiracy. But when you look at the fact that Michael is constantly being used as a scapegoat, that the media have been consistently and ravenously trying to destroy Michael since the 80s, that people are offered large sums of money to make up lies or allegations about Michael - it certainly makes you think. The most influential black superstar on Earth ends up having allegations of paedophilia against him. One of the worst things someone can be accused of. How convenient. But never a credible accuser, or witness, or any evidence to be found. Funny that.

Michael didn't lose YouTube subs or gain 5 million. That twitter user has just mixed up the accounts. The Vevo channel is the one with 8 million and it's losing subs because the subs are being moved to the official channel, the one with 13 million. I checked socialblade after LN. Subs and views both went up, not down.

Thank you for clarifying this, because that is how the wrong info gets out and people just roll with it. Thanks again for clearing that up.

When it's put as succinctly as this, it is so powerful.

You hit the nail on the head!

He looked like a fool in court even in front of the media who do not even talk about him. He was a proven liar on the stand just like Garvin.

Thank you for posting. it would indeed be interesting to hear feedback from Janet's set (and reactions from the crowd) at Glastonbury.

As promised, I am back updating after Janet's Glastonbury performance. The good news is I heard nothing negative about MJ, saw no flags and was pretty much worrying about nothing here.

On the downside, absolutely no mention of MJ was made by Janet and she did not perform Scream. I find this odd that it was almost 10 years to the day of MJ's death and he died while the festival was on (I wasn't there that year but it was big news there, of course, like it was everywhere). But not a word was said. I did not hear MJ's music or any mention of him anywhere else over the course of the weekend either, but I am not really surprised about that.

I guess I should be relieved that nothing negative was said, I suppose that's all we can hope for at this point but I still can't help feeling disappointed at the ignoring of the anniversary by Janet but maybe she felt it wasn't a risk worth taking in case it backfired :(

At the same time, they didn't make him have the type of friendships with children that he had. There was an "in" there to make the allegations happen.

There was no need to mention Michael at this festival. It does not take away from the FACT that Michael was shown OVERWHELMING love on the 10 year anniversary of his death. I am not going to worry about unimportant things like this. It means absolutely nothing, IMO. I focus on all of the positive things that DID happen. The media failed in their agenda to mute Michael, and focusing on things like this make the people with an agenda THINK they achieved their and they did NOT.

Some context for the video would be good, please. I have decided not to put negative stuff in my mind for the remainder of the month. LOL.

He's giving his opinion on LN - he doesn't believe them and I think his theory about the media about MJ is on point. It's safe to watch.

He was vulnerable, for sure. Michael played a part in creating the perfect storm. But they'd have gone after him regardless, with whatever they could have used.

it is weird to imagine that no member of the jackson family will ever be on ellen’s or oprah’s show.

Who cares! they both did the Jacksons family wrong.

she did the Jackson 5 shuffle. i heard this a few days ago.

Yes she did, I don't really consider that to be anything to do with the anniversary though and MJ was not specifically mentioned, which I find odd considering the timing.

There was no need to mention Michael at this festival.

Maybe there wasn't but it would have been a nice (and quite normal) thing to do to mention your brother who died 10 years ago almost to the day . The fact is were it not for the documentary something would surely have been mentioned, which is a real shame.
