1-4-2008) On April 5, 2008, nearly 120 students will gather together to perform Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' dance to break the Guinness World Record at the University of South Dakota. The record for the most people doing the 'Thriller' dance is currently held by Northwestern (Illinois) University's Dance Marathon, who broke the record in February of 2007 with 78 dancers.
Students will be learning the dance beginning at 1:15 p.m. at Vermillion High School (1001 E. Main St.). Once the moves are perfected, there will be a taping to verify the record was broken. Taping is scheduled to occur between 3:15-5 p.m. at the high school. The dance will be done as part of Dance Marathon, a 24-hour event that raises money for Children's Miracle Network.
