Did Michael really use and have experience with Propofol before he met Murray?
Because, from my understanding, the core of the defense's strategy is to show that Michael was the one that suggested & basically made Murray give him Propofol because he had already used it for the purpose of sleeping in the past.
A long time ago, I remember hearing that Michael used Propofol during his tours to go to sleep, but I'm not sure if that was from a reliable source. Is this true or not? If so, did he ever use it when he was not touring as well?
Because by saying this, Murray's team is basically painting HIM as the victim, claiming that he was pressured by Michael to administer Propofol because it was the only solution to his inability to sleep. They're even making it sound like Murray thought it would be safe to use because Michael had already used it in the past and that he himself "explained [to Murray] how to give Propofol". Basically, I think they're trying to convey that Michael knew more about Propofol than Murray (that he introduced Propofol to Murray, and not vice-versa), and because of this, Murray willingly administered Propofol to Michael. Am I understanding their strategy correctly?

Murray Defense Opening Statement
- Michael told Murray twice he had anxiety and problems with sleeping. Murray prescribed him sleep medicine but it wasn't effective for Michael.
- Michael didn't have insomnia. Michael Jackson had an absolute and through inability to sleep, not for minutes, hours. It was for days.
- In this June 27 interview, Dr. Murray told detectives about Michael's sleep problems. Michael Jackson told Murray he had inability to sleep and he could only sleep on Propofol and he always slept on Propofol when he was touring. Michael Jackson explained how to give Propofol. Murray told detectives he agreed to give Michael propofol to help him sleep. He said that he was concerned that Michael would use Propofol without him.
- Murray provided Michael Propofol for 2 months. For 2 months Michael slept, woke up and went to work. Chernoff states that Michael Jackson dies when Murray stopped giving Michael Propofol.
- Murray told detectives his goal was to find a way for Michael to sleep normally.
