Some of you may have read the thread "Gimme the truth - We don't need sensationalism for anything" from MeggyKate.
For those who don't know about it: The plan was to set up a campaign against the media and false media coverage, esp. tabloids, after all they did to Michael (and still do) and also to other celebrities.
Unfortunately MeggyKate can't take part in it now for reasons of time, but since I'd already set up a proposal for a website and wrote some articles, I thought I'd show you the website and what I collected so far and tell you about the plans we had. I'd still like to do the campaign because I think someday somebody has to make a start, but since I can't do it alone, because I don't have enough time, I leave it up to all of us. If there are enough people who are interested in the idea, we'll do it together, if not, well, then it is like it is.
Some information about the whole thing: Michael was the reason for the idea, but since the media hardly take fans serious, we wanted to address the site to the customers of tabloids and certain tv programmes. So we wanted to show other examples as well, besides Michael, who became victims of false media coverage.
Of course, unfortunately, it won't help Michael anymore, but after all he had to go through, I have the feeling that those who know about it have to do something against what's going on in the media, or at least try.
So, here's the website proposal for you to see. As aforesaid, it's not finished at all, the text on the starting page is just a placeholder.

You can click the link "Broadsheet and tabloid", "Public vs. privacy" (lyrics from songs about the media are still missing here, e.g. Tabloid junkie and Privacy, but also lyrics from other artists) and Freedom of the press". These are the articles I already wrote.
What we still need is:
An article about Michael
A leading article
Articles about false media coverage in other cases
The most interesting thing should be a petition for people to sign when they agree in not wanting the media to report as they do right now and not respect the privacy of people.
So, if you wanna contribute an article, help running the website, make the idea public or do anything else to help, you're very welcome... please just contact me here in the thread or send me a private message.
