Yeah, I enjoy to drive myself insane 😂. Du you draw just for fun or is it part of your job?

That's it for today, micdrop...or Mike-drop...pfff, my brain is melting.

Screaming (albeit silently) cuz it's 5:30 a.m. (should stay up for assignments) and I share a bedroom w my grandmother & sister🤞🏻

I had drawing as a hobby, however I went through massive art block during secondary school. Now that I'm taking dip. in animation (lotsoo drawing yoo) I *have* to break out from it to fight my inertia

5:30 a.m. 😮

Oh, I did some animation, too. But only simple stuff in After Effects. It's fun but a lot of work and planning 🫠. So, I guess you want to work in that area? Do you already know what exactly?

I am in the creative business, too but thinking about doing sth else...I am worried that in some years AI will take over most creative jobs 😐.

I have no clear direction in what I occupation I want to take up in the future for now. I'll see where my interests can take me to, perhaps (one shall be my main income, or side income)

Shake my head, lady. Shake my head. One can hope that this will not be the case in the future

Well, choose something that can't be easily replaced by AI. I think in the next 5-10 years many jobs will disappear 😬.

I'm rolling internally this cannot be the scenario that we'll be having 🥀
Well, it's already happening. Many companies and especially smaller clients prefer cheap and fast over high quality. So I would recommend looking for an area that can't be replaced easily and/or choosing a company that needs high quality. For example film studios instead of smaller companies.

Oh my gosh it’s getting thereeeee
The jewelry is jewelringgg
I could never 🤩🤩🤩
Actually I am not satisfied with the jewellery yet, that's why I started with the clothes 😂. But thank you. And yes, you surely could - just needs a little masochism and the desire to practice 💁

Some of my Kaeloo (frog in my profile pic) draws here. I did it with my own style haha, you can compare with the original one:

I love this tv series to much lol

Ohh, I am loving this so much! This is beautifully done! And I love seeing everyone’s work!

I’ve been a freelance artist for almost 2 decades, but I mostly work in the book industry (collaborating with authors, publishers). I do not have any MJ art (but I have started working on some), but I recall MJ being a Tolkien/LOTR fan. This piece is a Tolkien fanart from The Silmarillion, featuring the fight between Eärendil vs Ancalagon The Black. I will add below the timelapse, this was such a chaotic process, but I loved it because it was pressure-free and done just for me, haha.

Yes, I’ve certainly seen a decline in my own line of work when it comes to the amount of projects I have lined up. I will say that for those who opt to go the AI way, while faster and less expensive, it’s still a risky approach, most gen-AI software and websites list in their Terms&Conditions that the images/videos generated through their platform cannot benefit from copyright. That leaves whatever was generated as fair game for others to use as well, and legally speaking, there is not much that can be done about that (due to the absence of copyright).

Some publishers and authors I collaborate with have it in their contracts that whatever work they commission an artist has to be done without the aid of AI in any way, shape or form, so that the contracted product is protected and used solely for the intended purposes. They also do this to avoid any legal issues in the future, the law hasn’t really caught up with AI and not much regulation is put in place. There is a chance that might change in the future, but it’s my opinion that, ethical or not, AI is not going anywhere.

I am fortunate enough to have kept my creative career secondary to my main one, so it remains something I undertake whenever a project of interest comes around; it’s not my main source of income. Sadly, creators in general (writers, singers, painters, actors, artists in general) are facing very harsh times because of AI.

First of all: Love your work, I checked out your Insta profile 🤩.

And yes, we will see where AI takes us. I mean, it's a normal development that jobs disappear because of evolving technology. But it's new that this happens so quickly. I think in some years AI will be a great risk to different lines of creative work.

A big problem is, that many customers want things done quick and cheap. But in the creative field you need time to get ideas and develop them.

Interesting thing though with the contracts because how can they be sure no AI was used? That's basically impossible. You can just generate any picture and use it as a reference instead of creating everything yourself 🤔.

atm my job is safe, too, I also do some filming, so I guess AI will take some more years 'til it really is able to replace me 😅. But in 10 years, who knows...

Keep up the good work, I hope you will post more drawings here, especially Michael of course 😁

Wow, I hope AI doesn't steal your job. It's not quite there yet, and when I see AI-generated ads, they all look the same and are very flawed. I think the profession of artist will never disappear because art is still present in all its forms!

Meanwhile, I envy your drawing skills; like Ghosty (do you like this nickname @someplace_else, I have the reference lol), it's meticulously well done! I need to get my graphics tablet out; it's been rotting away in my closet for five years 🤣🤣🤣

Maybe not now, but I think in 5-10 years AI will be really good and many jobs (especially graphic designers and illustrators) will disappear over time.

Yeah, of course 😅. Thank you 😊.

What? You definitely have to do that, we need more posts here 🥳
