SO, since I'm a college student and I'm at my dorm during the week (I come home on wekends), I got my father to go and get me a copy of Thriller 25 on Wednesday.
When my dad came to pick me up for the weekend he gave me the cd *sigh* and told me what happened.
He went to Borders to get the cd cause he had a coupon for new albums. He said he went to the cd section and there was a GROUP of people in the R&B section saying things like "Where's Michael Jackson?" and "I see The Jacksons, but where is Michael?"
Sooo, my dad snuck past them to the Pop section (i taught him well-lol) and there were only TWO copies left, so he got his and hurried outta there! I know that huge group of people were gonna go CRAZY tryna get that one last copy! He said "man, people were fighting for that Michael Jackson CD!!!!!" Even I know that 'The Jacksons" and 'Janet' are in the R&B section and Michael is in the pop section- but then again, of course I would know!!! And my dad said, "I'm gonna have to get myself a copy!"
So while we were driving home, the radio started playing a Thriller mix with all the songs from thriller and I turned it up and people were calling in and giving the mix MAD props! I was so excited!
When Billie Jean came on, my dad turned it up and said, "man, this was THE song!" He said EVERYONE loved it, no matter who they were! He said when he used to go to the roller skating rink, this song would come on, everyone would stop skating, and a bunch of guys would come to the middle of the rink with MJ outfits, jherri curls (complete with the baby hair!!) , and white gloves, and have a Michael Jackson dancing contest!!!!! HOW MUCH do i wish that i was alive???!!!?????????!!!!!!!!
