Janet Jackson: What's Happening~~~

She's apologised now saying what she sais was "based on misinformation". She needs to stop listening to her clown of a brother. Janet took a big hit today, oof.
So true. Plus, Janet Jackson is just plain stupid. 🤨

So bizarre of her
I like her 1986-2008 stuff but what a shame
She's a bit of an airhead

Apparently the apology was not authorized and the person was fired.

Janet is being dragged through the mud after those comments she made about Presidential candidate/current Vice-President Kamala Harris. I'm not going to go into full detail about politics (I don't want to discuss it), but as we know, Randy is her manager, and I just found out that he's a Trump supporter! I was so shocked by this coming from Janet, of all people! This brings me back to what happened back in 2012 when that whole Katherine Jackson was missing fiasco was going on! Michael's kids knew what was up, and Prince got the receipts! There definitely WAS a reason why Michael didn't want to tour with them again, let alone touring for himself, and now, I think it's coming out. You know that old saying, "What's done in the dark shall come to the light." Look what's going with Sean Combs right now (too many nicknames, he couldn't just stick to one!), those open secrets are now being told!

I like all Black Americans have grown stronger and more cohesive by following the traditional "One Drop Rule".
That is why we don't have the destructive tribalism found in other parts of the African Diaspora.❤️

Sorry, but what is wrong wih her voice, it sounds like it is getting destroyed in the process? And it sounds like a man.....? WHAT?
Her voice is fine, imo. She's 58, she's not going to sound the way she did in 1995 plus live vocals always sound significantly different to studio vocals. Very few singers can reproduce the sound of the studio version of the song. Men and women both experience a lowering / deepening of the voice as they get older which is why singers sometimes have to change the song into a different key in order to be able to sing it live. Sure there were a couple of notes that she didn't quite reach, that's pretty normal.

I haven't watched a lot of Janet performing live. Afaik, she does use pre-recorded vocals on some of her songs. But it's still her mature voice that her audience is hearing.

Personally, I enjoyed it. :)

Here's Janet doing a little bit of singing in an interview she did back in the summer, 2024. I love it. 🥰

"Here’s the moment Janet Jackson sang “Fantasy” - the first song she ever wrote - during our interview. Before now, it had never been heard before."

Janet bringing some fire and soul in 2023.

"A person on this bird app called Janet Jackson's voice thin. Now I understood what he was saying & the shade he was shading in favor of his fave. I also understood that like many - he doesn't understand the many characters of her voice. It's not one note. It's a storyteller."

Janet has a strong voice and it's a shame she never utilized it.

My take on it is that she had a nice voice and it was strong in her prime, she didn't use it to a degree in her songs and chose to sing more softly.
Now she's pushing 60 so you can't expect her to sound as good as she did in the 80s, 90s and 00s.
She still sounds okay though!

Thx for explaining

I have the sheet music somewhere, maybe they want to borrow it?

And that guitar in the beginning, wtf?
What do you have against guitars?? They did great. Got a huge response. As it always does.

Ngl, I love the guitar intro they put in but rock music is my first love so I'm biased, lol. I'm guessing Janet wanted to put her own spin on it. I think Scream is strong enough to take a bit of heavy guitar but I appreciate that it does make the start of the song sound really different.

Yeah it sounds so different, that's what I was trying to say. Thanks
