LOS ANGELES — Concert giant AEG Live is seeking book drafts and manuscripts by Jermaine Jackson that it claims may reveal details about his superstar brother that will help its defense in a lawsuit filed by the singers’ mother.

AEG is seeking drafts and manuscripts of Jackson’s recent book, “You Are Not Alone,” as well as an unpublished memoir it claims may focus on Michael Jackson’s alleged drug abuse.

Jermaine Jackson’s attorneys are fighting the request, calling them overly broad and in violation of the First Amendment, according to court filings. Turning over the writings also would violate the privacy of Michael Jackson’s three children and other family members and constitute a “fishing expedition,” according to documents filed Monday.

AEG’s attorneys contend the writings are important to its defense in a case filed by the singers’ mother claiming the concert promoter failed to properly supervise Conrad Murray, the physician convicted of involuntary manslaughter for Michael Jackson’s June 2009 death.

Their efforts seek drafts of a book described as “Legacy: Surviving the Best and the Worst,” which was reportedly in the works several years before the pop superstar’s death. AEG claims drafts of the work would show issues “of immense relevance to this case, including Michael Jackson’s rumored long-term abuse of prescription medication.”

AEG’s attorney Marvin Putnam wrote in an email that the company was seeking the documents because, during his book tour, Jermaine Jackson publicly touted the “details of his brother’s life and death.” Putnam also wrote that Jermaine Jackson claimed he was the “only person qualified to deliver the real Michael.”

The writings are not covered by protections afforded to investigative journalists since they are memoirs, AEG wrote in its motion to get a judge to order the release of the materials. A hearing is scheduled for Nov. 28.

Jermaine Jackson’s lawyer Kevin Boyle, who also represents his mother in the lawsuit against AEG, was not immediately available for comment.

AEG had promoted Michael Jackson’s comeback shows, titled “This Is It,” which were canceled after his unexpected death due to an overdose of a hospital anesthetic the singing had been given to help him sleep.

The company also is seeking to depose Jermaine Jackson. And it obtained a judge’s order Wednesday requiring Jackson’s longtime friend and dermatologist Dr. Arnold Klein to appear for a deposition next month.

Katherine Jackson sued AEG in September 2010, and the case is scheduled for trial in April 2013.

The company also is involved in a separate lawsuit filed by Lloyd’s of London over Michael Jackson’s life insurance policy. Putnam said the company has informed Lloyd’s that it has recouped its losses and is no longer pursuing the claim. Any proceeds should be paid to a company that benefits Michael Jackson’s estate, he said.

AEG’s formal withdrawal of the claim is expected soon, as well as its dismissal from the case filed by the insurer.

Now look at what this family caused. AEG is really trying to shame them as well because they are mad because this case is bogus and the Jacksons tried to trash AEG's reputation. When AEG is finished with this case they would have crippled the Jacksons mentally, financially, and socially. They want to show the family's greed, their disunity and jealousy, their reliance on Michael who they trash, and how they will say/write anything against Michael to get money. Thus, showing that this family does not really care about Michael and his death, but what they could get from him. AEG is not only going after Michael, but his family as well, and we have grandma and co to thank for this.

What does Jermaine say about being Michael's backbone or Janet has his back? All I see is stabbing in the back. If Michael's kids get stressed or hurt by any of this I hope when they become adults they move away from this family.Ungrateful to Michael for all the help he gave them in their life. Shameful.

^^This has been the worse, worse family I have encountered in terms of attacking one of their own. I have never heard or seen a more dreadful example. You want to tell me that Katherine cannot see what all this digging by AEG is doing to her son's memory. Every time AEG brings up some distasteful comment her children made about Michael, shouldn't she feel a sharp pain in her heart as though being stabbed by a knife? Where did such a mother come from? Forget the siblings for the moment, and let's look at the person who filed this case. You want to tell me that Katherine cannot see that it is time to drop this. AEG is asking for permission to see the records of Dr. Metzer and now they want Jermaine's writings. AEG knows the horrible things that are in Jermaine's manuscript, because the Jacksons cannot keep anything secret.

After 09 I do not know how that family can hold their head up high when they walk. They seem to lack all sense of propriety, shame, values, and forgot what their religions taught them. It seems that Michael was born to bring joy to many and at the same time to suffer tremendous pain even by the hands of every Tom, Dick, and Harry even after his death. What kind of thing is this?

AEG wants Jermaine to give a deposition also. The family will be destroyed , no way any of them will agree to go on the stand and testify , that's in my opinion won't happen ever.

Katherine knows but she can't stand up to her kids like Randy it seems. If they love Michael at all they should drop this. Their greed is too much. They were okay with AEG attacking Michael but they didn't think they would look at all their lives and secrets. I don't know how she can be okay with Michael getting blamed, dragged through the mud and humiliated all the time.

I THINK the jackson's have proof that AEG knew about Michael being given propofol. c.murray said in his deposition that he ask AEG for the equipment he needed for Michael, and he was told by AEG once they get to London he would get what he needed. and i believe AEG knew about propofol. and thats the heart of the jackson's lawsuit

^So the siblings ratted on Randy--who here is surprised!!! This is what the family does best. Randy went to Michael's home and took some of his property away that was in his briefcase. What did he expect to find there? How many of them went there and took away property and money?

I wonder if the toxicology report differs from the one the coroner did on Michael. It should be the same unless Randy and family requested more tests for drugs. I guess this is what AEG wants to look at. Is the family going to make the claim that the drugs were given by Muarry and AEG was responsible for his behavior? AEG no doubt has a rebuttal for that.

It seems these depositions are still lagging, so this case was really not ready to be done this year as was originally planned. It seems that most of the delay is coming from the family members, who do not want to be questioned.

Mdigee what brought you to the conclusion that the family have proof about the prof. If they had proof they would not risk the court's disfavor by sending Mann to leak the emails. Proof means you have sound evidence and you are ready to take your case to court and win, so you remain calm and wait for the evidence to be disclosed in court. It is good to see someone has confidence in the Jacksons' ability to gain proof in this case.

The equipment that Muarry requested does not show a direct connection to prof. What is it about the equipment that made you say that?

Didn't the estate tell everyone that they should send all Michael's property to the executors. What are these people doing with notes from his home and his private briefcase with papers. What if there are documents in the briefcase that would be of value to the estate. There is something so shady about Randy and co. Again they are still thinking that what is Michael's is theirs.

one problem. the equipment he asked had no relationship to propofol. in other words it's impossible to tell that he was being given propofol based on the equipment.

Note: he asked for a CPR machine which is a chest compression machine used after the heart stops. It's irrelevant to the administration of propofol. A drip , a breathing machine , a monitoring equipment would have been the relevant equipment. And we learned from Dr. Shafer that the breathing would stop before the heart and the correct way to reverse it would have been to supply oxygen - not heart compression

Let's see, how much ammunition has the Jackson's supplied AEG:

Janet's declarations of several drug interventions (maybe she will stay out of the country to avoid her depo)
Family lawyer Brian Oxman's declaration the day after Michael died, that he knew Michael would die of a drug overdose.
Jermaine: Well Jerm declared Michael could not speak for himself, he had to speak for him.

I thought Joseph was outrageous, a few days after Michael died, when given the opportunity to express his grief on TV, he opted to promote some lame project. He was blatant with the fact that he did not care, the rest of the family had the sense to hide their calousness. We know now the family was robbing Michael's home and taking anything they thought they could use for themselves instead of seeing that the property was set aside for his children.

Michael Jackson's big brother Jermaine tried to use the King of Pop's kid-sex trial to shop a tell-all book that dished ugly dirt about his brother - and said Jermaine didn't know if Michael was guilty or not of child molestation.

Jermaine, 51, described creepy encounters between Michael, 47, and children, but failed to get the book, "Legacy: Surviving the Best and the Worst," published, sources said.

Jermaine wrote: "I don't want to tell you my brother's innocent. I am not certain that he is."

In the badly written proposal - a copy of which was seen by The Post - Jermaine waxes lyrical on all aspects of Michael's life, including how the family has always been suspicious of the singer's feelings for boys.

Jermaine revealed that the family first encountered those suspicions when another Jackson brother, Tito, lost his ex-wife, leaving their three children without a mother.

"I remember Michael sitting on the bed with Tito's boys - Taj, T.J. and Terrell, crying and holding them," Jermaine writes.

"He held them in an almost uncomfortable manner that I will discuss openly and honestly [in the book]. The entire house was shaken."

Jermaine also says that he suspects that his younger brother may have been a victim of sexual abuse by their dad, Joseph.

"There were times when Joseph and some of these men he'd describe as "very important business people," would meet late at night in our hotel suite with Michael, and Michael alone," Jermaine writes.

"I always felt something was wrong with that and Michael would always be sick for days after these "meetings."

The superstar singer's fatherhood was also called into question in the book proposal that sources say was sent to several publishers.

HarperCollins and St. Marks, sources said, passed on the book because Jermaine refused to say his brother was guilty in the child-molesting case in which he was acquitted last year.

Jermaine says Michael's ex-wife Debbie Rowe was artificially inseminated by a "sperm donor" in order to have his oldest two children Prince Michael and Paris.

"He picked the sperm donor by using information provided by a sperm bank," Jermaine writes.

"Now, who can do that? Michael Jackson, that's who, my brother. What power, what following. Yes, he's eccentric. Yes, he has a thing for young children."

Jermaine said he suspects Wacko Jackson's drug use may have left him unable to remember what he did to young children.

"The Demerol, the Vicodin, the Percocet, Doeine, the cocaine, the Jack Daniels, the wine. Does he really know what he does with these kids?" Jermaine writes.

I think it's disgusting. I don't know what else to say. I remember when Michael died I just cried and cried and I never met him. I could barely look at videos or listen to his music.

According to the article he would have gotten a publisher if he admitted that in the last case Michael was guilty. You mean it is so simple to publish lies? This is worse than what Latoya did, and her actions were bad enough.

The dysfunctional aspects of Jermaine is that after he wrote Word to the BADD and tried to sell this vile work to a publisher, he could shed those fake tears in 09, try to bury Michael at Neverland to get a cut from his friend at Colony Capital, and write that self-serving book about seeing Michael through a brothers eyes. What a family!!!

I dont know if this book is authentic or not. Assuming it is.. Jermaine told Geraldo (Geraldo at large) that the kids are MJs biological.

For those who harbor doubts, Jermaine revealed that Prince has now developed vitiligo spots on his body, something Jermaine noticed when Prince was playing in the pool with other Jackson family children.

"Michael has passed it down to Prince," Jermaine said.

Jermaine wrote: "I don't want to tell you my brother's innocent. I am not certain that he is."

I dont know how many times he has defended Michael from these accusations. Im just very very confused right now. Cant deal with this.

That is true. They never believed he was innocent. They never believed the kids were his. I have said many times that one of my clients saw Janet on TV saying that they were going to do a dna test on the kids, and that they felt through the kids Debbie would get her hands on Michael's money which they did not want to happen. It is all about money and jealousy.

Anyway we all saw Prince vitiligo, so we do not need Jermaine to convince us of it. It is he who was impressed by it, because he doubted all the time. Jermaine has said so many different stories, like his family, that is best not to rely on him for the truth of anything.

He never thought Michael had vitiligo either until he saw it for himself. How many times did he say Michael was 1000% innocent? I have a sister and I could never do these things to her at all even if we were not close or got along. Never.

marebear, you are right.. he never thought MJ had vitiligo until he saw MJ's lifeless body in the hospital. There in the hospital is when he realized his brother had vitiligo.. I don't think Katherine thought he had it either considering she told Oprah 'she doesn't know what he did to his skin' etc, in addition to her son's 'toothpick' nose. I can't stand this family. I said it years ago they were shady as hell now it is all coming out..

I bet Janet hi-tails it back out of the country on another boat with her boyfriend Wissam before she does a deposition. They will ask her about her interviews when she said there were 'several interventions' and then they can trap her on Leonard Rowe's account that Janet went to Vegas to get MJ to do a family tour because she needed to pay her musicians from her cancelled concert. Leonard said Janet got pissed at MJ for not agreeing to the concert. I guess that was a 'concertvention' and not a 'drug intervention'irate:

The family is so short sighted. How long do they think that any settlement from AEG would last them? If they had treated Michael's children with love and respect those children may have shared their inheritance with them or at least given them financial help when needed. I doubt if they will get anything from those children now.

I remember seeing footage on the news after Michael passed they were showing the house and how it was supposedly locked down..anyway...I remember then me and hubby saying how we seen Janet and LaToya entering the house and what we thought looked like Randy standing in the driveway. I am sure that they probably ransacked the house and took what they could...probably any money Michael had laying around ,,,his jewelry....and as far as papers go..who knows what Randy took. And as far as he having the "private autopsy papers" in that suitcase. IMO...if that private autopsy said anything different than the one from the coroner did...Randy Jackson would of been yelling it from the roof tops. This family continues to disgust me..I feel so bad for PPB ...they have to continue to learn WHO it is they can trust and WHO they cannot. Michael taught them well as we have seen (Pand P tweets)....but still..they are stuck in this snake pit of a family.
