I think the estate has stayed out of trying to influence the family over this aeg lawsuit - they;re just picking up the bills. Randy would definitely have been ranting about the executors trying to cover up the conspiracy over mj's death, if branca was trying to influence mrs j to drop the lawsuit. Mrs j's estate lawyer, sanders, we heard had recently (after spagate) been added to the small army of lawyers working on the aeg case. So it looks like all systems go - i was really hoping mrs j wd come to her senses after spagate and acknowledge randy is a nutcase and drop out.

Re: AEG emails leak / AEG files motion for sanctions against Jacksons / Doubts surfaced early on MJ

There is noway Mann could have gotten those documents from fans. Those documents were strictly confidential and as such sealed. meaning no-one could have gotten them except KJ and her lawyers. AEG can easily prove this. so Mann self-serving "confessions" will be dismissed in the court of law. his closeness to the Jacksons is too obvious. Not sure how much he's getting from the Jacksons for this?

Re: AEG emails leak / AEG files motion for sanctions against Jacksons / Doubts surfaced early on MJ

his closeness to the Jacksons is too obvious.

You got that right!

And if I recall correctly, Mann wanted to include arguments regarding Michael's will being fake in this court case. MORE of Randy Jackson's back-alley shenanigans I'm sure.

Re: AEG emails leak / AEG files motion for sanctions against Jacksons / Doubts surfaced early on MJ

I'm still thinking this fairytale about Katherine's "mini stroke" was possible an attempt for an end the suit against AEG. Because they can see, that they can't win this case.

Now there was given 250 pages of sealed documents from the suit to the press. I mean: Which normal person would do something.
For their hope of a success in court is this a catastrophe.
Everybody knows AEG would react about this in any form, and maybe in the end it could be a petition to the court about reject Katherine's claim. There was a breach of trust with an large harm for AEG.

(the joke figure Howard Mann is nothing then a red herring: He is the "fall guy", and maybe he likes this because it is the final occasion for him to be interesting for the press and be in the spot.)

Why I think so?
In the last 3 years the family was never tired to saying: "Michael was murdered by AEG" or "AEG has guilt for Michael's dead".
There is a lot of fans, too, which believe that.
If on the end the judge decides contra Katherine (and pro AEG) it will be hard to say "AEG is guilty for Michael's dead." And it is not undangerous because AEG could sue the person which says this.

But what when Katherine's suit is ending without an verdict? The records are closed but Katherine's claim is always there and the rumors about the AEG guilt go on an on for ever.
This is the main point: The Jackson's maybe are thinking: "When everybody is thinking 'AEG...', then nobody is thinking about us and our role in Michael's last months and years."
And Katherine is washing her hands in innocence, because there is Howard Mann.

(how always: only my own logic...)

Exactly! Howard Mann throws himself under the bus for Katherine in exchange for cash and continued partnership. Both he and the Jackson's get a small victory by trashing Michael and making AEG look guilty.

Re: AEG emails leak / AEG files motion for sanctions against Jacksons / Doubts surfaced early on MJ

Everytime I think the Jacksons have reached a new low, they come up with something else. Now Katherine's pornographic business partner is blaming the fans for giving out confidential documents in a pending litigation. I wish there was a way to let Mrs. Jackson know how disgusting this all is. I really want to know where her head is at because I believe she loved Michael and misses him, but does it matter to her how his memory and legacy is being tainted by the actions she is supporting within her remaining family? Is she really able to seperate her love for her son from her desire to exploit him at any cost, even if it hurtful to his children? She may feel since he is dead he is not aware of anything that's being done and can't be hurt anymore, but what about his children? Does she really want all of Michael's flaws, doubts, and insecurites dragged out in a negative light and exploited in front of his children? Was the granny snatch really about pushing her to continue with the lawsuit againsty AEG (rumor was after deposition she wanted to drop it)?

update for the cnn article

"CNN has learned from a lawyer for an insurance company embroiled in a lawsuit with AEG that Mann approached him several weeks ago offering the same documents to help their case against the promoter. The company declined to follow up since they did not know their authenticity, attorney Paul Schrieffer said.

Mann alerted the lawyer Saturday that the e-mails would be published in the newspaper Sunday, Schrieffer said. "The first time we saw these documents was in the Los Angeles Times article."

The existence of the e-mails, which were not turned over to the insurance company during the discovery phase of the case, have complicated AEG's effort to prevent a court from voiding the $17.5 million policy that AEG purchased through Lloyds of London, he said."

There are more updates

AEG is not backing down from its charge that Michael Jackson's mother and her lawyers leaked e-mails to a reporter, in violation of a court order, despite a claim of responsibility by someone not connected to the Jackson's wrongful-death lawsuit against the concert promoter.

The dramatic e-mails, published in the Los Angeles Times on Sunday, revealed the promoter for Jackson's "This Is It" concerts expressed doubts about the star's health and his ability to be ready for the shows for several months before his death.

Howard Mann, who partnered with Katherine Jackson on a book about her family, acknowledged to CNN Wednesday that he gave the controversial documents to Times reporter Harriet Ryan.

Mann said he obtained the documents from various sources, but none of them came from the Jacksons or their lawyers. Some of the documents were part of discovery in other cases, including the criminal trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, he said.

"The Times does not comment on sources," Ryan said in response to CNN's request for comment on Mann's claim that he gave them to her.

Mann was involved in a bitter copyright dispute concerning that book with Jackson's estate at the time he gave the reporter the documents, but the lawsuit was settled earlier this week.

AEG lawyer Marvin Putnam, who said Tuesday that he had "unequivocal evidence" showing that MIchael Jackson's mother and her lawyers leaked the e-mails, has asked the judge in the wrongful-death suit to punish Jackson with fines and exclude the e-mails as evidence in the case.

"The documents released to the press were given to Mrs. Jackson and her attorneys -- and to no one else -- confidentially in discovery and subject to a court order," Putnam said Tuesday.

On Thursday, he called it "convenient that Howard Mann -- a longtime business partner of the Jackson family -- has come forward in this fashion."

"Whether these documents were leaked through an intermediary or directly by Mrs. Jackson and her counsel, this remains an egregious violation of the court's order requiring immediate sanctions and an investigation," the AEG lawyer said.

Putnam accused Jackson and her lawyers of leaking the documents -- despite that their "publication hurts her son's memory and her grandchildren more than anyone else" -- because they "know they cannot win on the law and are losing control over the case."

"After months of discovery, plaintiffs now know what we have known all along -- there is nothing to support their claims," the AEG lawyer said.

Jackson lawyer Kevin Boyle said the admission by Mann that he was the source of the e-mails should settle the matter.

"He (Mann) definitely never received any documents from Katherine, Prince, Paris, or Blanket Jackson, nor from their lawyers in the wrongful death suit against AEG," said Jackson lawyer Kevin Boyle. Prince, Paris and Blanket Jackson are Michael Jackson's children.

Boyle criticized AEG's lawyers for their haste in pointing the finger at the Jacksons.

"AEG made these accusations against the Jackson family and their lawyers apparently without doing even the most rudimentary investigation," Boyle said. "We are further disturbed that the motion for sanctions filed by AEG was given to the press before it was served on Katherine Jackson or her counsel."

If the AEG lawyers had reached out to the Jackson lawyers earlier, they could have helped solve the mystery of the leaked documents, he said.

"AEG has known about the alleged leak since a week before the article was published," Boyle said. "AEG never contacted the Jackson's counsel to inquire about the article or the documents."

The documents made public in the Times story are not the most damaging to AEG that were uncovered, Boyle said.

"We can assure you that we are in possession of documents that make for an extremely compelling story in the wrongful-death case, and that completely support the plaintiffs' claims," he said.

CNN has learned from a lawyer for an insurance company embroiled in a lawsuit with AEG that Mann approached him several weeks ago offering the same documents to help their case against the promoter.

The existence of the e-mails, which were not turned over to the insurance company during the discovery phase of the case, have complicated AEG's effort to prevent a court from voiding the $17.5 million policy that AEG purchased through Lloyds of London, he said.

"We are looking for information about Michael Jackson's prior drug use and the failure of AEG to disclose the facts and what the truth was prior to our client's issuance of the policy," Schrieffer said.

The AEG lawyer said the insurance company can expect to get the e-mails eventually.

"It appears the lawyers for the insurance company did what any ethical lawyer would do: they refused to receive documents leaked in violation of the Court's order. And I have every reason to believe the insurers will now receive those same documents as discovery continues," Putnam said.

Re: AEG emails leak / AEG files motion for sanctions against Jacksons / Doubts surfaced early on MJ

If Mann gave that information to the news, he got it from Katherine and co. In no way he got e-mails from various sources that are in the format that AEG gave to the court. There would not be various sources in such a case. This only shows that Mann and Katherine are still working to undermine Michael in the media.

Re: AEG emails leak / AEG files motion for sanctions against Jacksons / Doubts surfaced early on MJ

They don't care about Michael's memory. They don't care how it looks to people. It's okay for Michael to be thrown under the bus and his issues looked at. Yet Jermaine, Randy, Rebbie, Janet and mom and dad all have things they wouldn't want the public to know. It's okay that their privacy is protected. Michael is always sacrificed and used. Sorry I sound harsh or rude but I have no respect for any of these people. The Jacksons, AEG, Mann etc.

I still wish everyday that Michael was still here. If anything to be be with his kids who have shown more class and respect towards Michael than the so called adults in their lives. Shame on all of them. John Lennon, Elvis, Marley etc their families show more respect and protect their loved one better than Jacksons do towards Michael. It's not hate I feel because I feel nothing towards them. I hope the kids are happy and live a good life and hope that someday Michael can truly rest in peace and be remembered for the special person he was.

Re: AEG emails leak / AEG files motion for sanctions against Jacksons / Doubts surfaced early on MJ

It does not matter who on Mrs Jackson's team leaked the information, the fact is her associate admits his guilt. To say that it came from Michael Jackson's fans is B.S. that I don't believe the court will believe. Katherine---When you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas.

Re: AEG emails leak / AEG files motion for sanctions against Jacksons / Doubts surfaced early on MJ

What bothers me is that Michael isn't here to defend himself. We don't know how he felt, what was going on during that time and what he was thinking. These emails should not have been made public.

Re: AEG emails leak / AEG files motion for sanctions against Jacksons / Doubts surfaced early on MJ

Exactly! Howard Mann throws himself under the bus for Katherine in exchange for cash and continued partnership. Both he and the Jackson's get a small victory by trashing Michael and making AEG look guilty.

And if AEG has enough of the rumors that they were guilty for Michael's death and files a lawsuit against the Jacksons for slander, the Estate's money is used to pay the judgement.

Re: AEG emails leak / AEG files motion for sanctions against Jacksons / Doubts surfaced early on MJ

Katherine's attorney said that he helped in the settlement of the Mann case. Now we know why it was so low, because Mann was promised something.

Mann has no beef with AEG. His problem is with the Estate, so why would he, a fraudster, seek out the insurance co to give them information that would hurt the policy that AEG took out on Michael? Also, why would he be so interested in damaging AEG's reputation with the e-mails, when he has no issue or case against them? This clearly shows that Mann is being used and paid to do certain acts, by those who have a beef with the estate and AEG.

People need to remember that AEG gave emails from 08 to Katherine and co and from 09 to Lloyds. Further, AEG stated that the emails were sent in a specific format that is different from other emails used in the co. AEG's staff also had no contact with these emails. The only people who had those emails sent in that specific format was those involved in the case, so how could Mann get them from fans and various sources? That is a lie. Let's blame the fans in order to keep Katherine and co out of it. By the insurance lawyer's statement we see that Mann had them days before they were leaked, so he got them from Katherine's side some time ago and was looking for an opportunity to use them--sort of reminds you of Judas.

Guys I need help in remembering something from 09. After the memorial, didn't AEG give the estate the policy so they could file the claim, and then the estate paid AEG for the debts that arose while Michael was doing the production of TII? Now if the estate has the policy and Mann/Katherine try to help the insurance co win the case, aren't they essentially preventing the estate from recouping the insurance funds? We need to check this, because I have a vague idea that I read that information about the policy.

If the policy is with the estate, then the actions by Mann/Katherine and co show that they really do not care about the estate/Michael at all. It seems their need to hurt AEG is so strong that they would engage in actions to hurt their family member's reputation and prevent his estate from winning the claim, if AEG can be hurt in the process. Basically, hurting AEG's reputation is more important than Michael and his legacy.

Re: AEG emails leak / AEG files motion for sanctions against Jacksons / Doubts surfaced early on MJ

Maybe Katherine promised to ask for another "loan" to cover Mann's recent settlement with the estate in exchange for taking the fall. They seem to be pretty ballsy when it comes with playing with Michael's money so I wouldn't be surprised.

Re: AEG emails leak / AEG files motion for sanctions against Jacksons / Doubts surfaced early on MJ

Just glad they didn't find a way to blame the estate

Re: Katherine & MJ's kids sue AEG / Trial date delayed to April 2, 2013

The Katherine side cannot be trusted. It would be good if all documents remained in court and the lawyers have to sit there and read them with a guard looking. This AEG case benefits Katherine and her children, so only a fool will think that Katherine does not disclose all the information to them and give them an update on what is going on.

Re: AEG emails leak / AEG files motion for sanctions against Jacksons / Doubts surfaced early on MJ

I remember I think that the estate filed the insurance policy. The estate had to pay costs to AEG too.

Re: AEG emails leak / AEG files motion for sanctions against Jacksons / Doubts surfaced early on MJ

The insurance policy that the Estate was dealing with was a personal life insurance policy. It was paid out very quickly so there was no doubt on the insurance company's part that Michael had no hand in his own death. The life insurance company is usually given the preliminary findings from the coroner's office or whomever signs the death certificate. Michael had agreed to pay production costs so that he could have control over the show---if he wanted to sell broadcast rights or film rights in the future he would own the production and keep all profits.

Someone From Dr. Conrad Murray's Legal Team Accused Of Leaking Confidential Michael Jackson Health Information

Someone on Dr. Conrad Murray's legal team has been accused of leaking confidential health information about Michael Jackson, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

As previously reported, a blockbuster report in the Los Angeles Times, based on a series of confidential emails, revealed that Jackson was drinking heavily, was showing signs of paranoia, anxiety and obsessive behavior and insisted on being called "Mikey" in the weeks leading up to his death.

The details of those final weeks are coming to light thanks to a lawsuit filed by AEG, the company that put together the This Is It tour, and Lloyds of London, the insurer for the planned 50-show concert series. However, the emails relating to Jackson's health contained in the lawsuit were ordered sealed by the judge overseeing the case to prevent confidential information being made public.

A source now claims to RadarOnline.com that someone from Dr. Conrad Murray's legal team leaked the confidential information to the Los Angeles Times, via an intermediary to Howard Mann, an ex-business associate of Michael's mother, Katherine Jackson.

Mann admitted to CNN recently that he had provided the Los Angeles Times reporter with the confidential emails, but skirted around the subject of how he obtained them. Mann tells RadarOnline.com exclusively: "I won't tell you who I received the e-mails from. I can guarantee you that I wasn't the only source for the Los Angeles Times story.

"I have never spoken directly to Dr. Conrad Murray's lawyers, but it's possible that I received some of my information from them through an intermediary, but I did get the e-mails from more than one person and/or source. I never received any information from Katherine Jackson, or any of her lawyers though. Furthermore, the information released in the Los Angeles Times about Michael Jackson's health is just the tip of the iceberg. There is much, much more information to come out that will absolutely shock the world."

Dr. Conrad Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in connection with Michael Jackson's death, and sentenced to four years in jail.

Calls seeking comment to Dr. Murray's attorneys weren't immediately returned.

I expect that news to be published around September 14-18th when Bad 25 drops. They can't let Michael have 1 damn positive moment!

Even if they made a billion dollars from this case, they'd blow through it in a month because they are idiots and don't deserve any money.

Re: AEG emails leak / AEG files motion for sanctions against Jacksons / Doubts surfaced early on MJ

I put this mess at the feet of Katherine Jackson for taking on Howard Mann as her partner. He was a scandal before he started doing business with her and his tawdry background was easy to check. He uses Michael Jackson's murderer to besmeerch his memory. This is so low.

Re: AEG emails leak / AEG files motion for sanctions against Jacksons / Doubts surfaced early on MJ

There better not be anymore leaks. Isn't this already a serious matter and you don't to make the judge or courts mad? How much has Mann seen everything Katherine had? He has nothing to do with this case and here he is involved now. The whole thing disgusts me.

Re: Doubts surfaced early on Michael Jackson

So, according to this, KJ and PPB have 10 lawyers working for them on the AEG wrongful death case? 10?

AEG subpoenaed Howard Mann today to ask him under oath where he got those e-mails. Stayed tuned.

I still think ultimately the family is behind it. I can't see how any of these e-mails would exonerate Murray. So if his lawyers are in it with the Jacksons, they are foolish and it only shows their desperation and that they have no real evidence in favor of Murray.

I always had this bad feeling that the family would try to pull something to sabotage Bad 25, to hurt the sales, to hurt Michael's Estate. So this is what they do now. Leaking e-mails, distracting attention away from the music, back to the sensationalism. Well done. With a family like you, who needs enemies?
