Lenny Kravitz Re-Working Duet with the 'King of Pop'

It could use a new mix.

The volume on the full leaked version (that SONY managed to pull off the internet shortly after the leak) is not totally even on the track. That needs to be fixed. If Lenny could make Michael's voice a little more clear would also be appreciated. Finally he has to do something about the intro. The computer-generated beep sounds in the unmixed version is kind of weird. I hope he removes that.

"Reworked" could mean anything. Pretty much sure it will still be the same song, sonically enhanced with maybe some touch ups.

Can't wait for the album, I'm really starting to feel the hype now.

That beep is essential as it fills out the beat and stops it sounding too empty and dry, it's like a counter rhythm, there is one in YRMW too, sure the sound of the beat could be much improved, but i wouldn't remove that beep, it's a feature of MJ's sound around that time.

Does anyone know if Lenny knew about the Cascio stuff at the time of the album's production? He is now clearly very angry about his song being on "Michael".
i donmt think he knew he was only woking on ''another day''

I think Lenny had already said once that MJ wanted to release Another Day on another album but it's interesting that he had the song in his mind while he was in Bahrain. Given the insane amount of old demos MJ was working on before he died I wouldn't be surprised if this was another song he reworked at some point in the 2000's.

Michael held some great stuff from Invincible. Another Day, She Was Loving Me & Escape were confirmed to be saved for his follow up to Invincible.

I wonder what his reasons were for not releasing them back then.

Interesting that MJ was calling him and mentioned he still wanted to put out Another Day
I don't know where in the interview he talks about Michael. But it's interesting then, in that case, it's not so random on Michael after all.

They simply didn't fit in my opinion.

But they'd get more shine later, for sure.
That's exactly what Michael thought about Another Day, he thought the song was too hard for Invincible so he decided to hold it for another album instead. Lenny must've took that personally seeing how he mellowed out the song on his remix lol.

This would've worked for the album if certain songs were removed and replaced. Removing You Are My Life, The Lost Children and Cry and replacing them with Another Day, Shout, We've Had Enough, She Was Lovin' Me and Escape would've balanced it out a bit

Yeah but why do that when you can add those songs with Beautiful Girl, Hollywood Tonight, and all sorts of other stuff. To a fresh album. He wanted Invincible to be sentimental, and I do give it kudos, it's not just more Angry Mike. That's the biggest boon to it really, it's a much happier record than any of the 90s stuff.

Lenny and Mike just don’t work very well. Average at best…

I agree about an easy going album, just saying IF Another Day was to make the final tracklist, adding the songs I mentioned would’ve gave it balance.

  13. Threatened

Listen to the song "Human" and tell me what song it resembles from The Jacksons
Yeah he released that one as a single didn’t he? It's about from 0.20-30 sounds like The Jacksons Walk Right Now.

"When all of my days are done"
First line of Human

"Here when all my work is done"
First line of Walk Right Now

Not only the lyrics, but the melody is the same

Yup! When I first heard it, i started singing WRN and didn’t catch why until I played it back

Stuck In The Middle would have been nice for MJ to record.
