Lenny Kravitz Re-Working Duet with the 'King of Pop'

Lionsgate exec mentioned the biopic

“The buzz that we’re getting every time a photo gets released is kind of crazy. And I think that’ll be the biggest movie we’ve ever had,” Packer forecast.

wrong thread?

Michael held some great stuff from Invincible. Another Day, She Was Loving Me & Escape were confirmed to be saved for his follow up to Invincible.

I wonder what his reasons were for not releasing them back then.
Was “Another Day” ever intended for Invincible, or was it for Lenny’s album? I'm only asking because we don’t have any confirmation on this, and that song was released on Lenny Kravitz’s album without Michael.

It was for Invincible. Lenny mentioned Michael or his label saying the song was too tough or hard hitting for Invincible

Invincible as an album changed a lot between 1998 and 2001, songs like Another Day, APWNN, SWLM and Xscape unfortunately got lost in the shuffle.

More producers were brought onto the project and more songs kept coming up. Songs like You Are My Life were recorded very late on in the process too

Interestingly Lenny Kravitz actually released the song himself in 2004 and called it Storm. His version is more of a slow funk groove

I think if he had stuck with what he was doing early on in the process we would have gotten a much better album. Of course MJ decided to start again when he met Rodney so we'll never know.

The initial plan was to drop the album by the end of 1999. (There're plans for two millenium concerts in Sydney & Hawaii on 12/31/1999, too).

Imo, MJ should have released album as it was planed, and he should have continued with Jerkins on the follow up project. I remember Michael being keen about WMCIG in early 1999.

I guess the accident in Munich and the following use of drugs for pain relief had some effects on his decision making.
