Ok, now Michael news lets see...looks like everyone is still talking about Neverland's loan being sold and it will not be on the auction block.

Neverland Ranch foreclosure auction canceled

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A foreclosure auction scheduled this week for Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch was canceled after an investment company bought the loan.
Colony Capital LLC spokeswoman Caroline Luz said the loan purchase was recently made by Colony and the auction slated for Wednesday was off, the Los Angeles Times reported Monday.
In a statement released Sunday by a Jackson spokesman who identified himself as B. Michael, the singer said he was "pleased with recent developments involving Neverland Ranch ... that would allow me to focus on the future."
Jackson had gone into default on the $24.5 million he owes on the 2,500-acre spread in Santa Barbara County. He has struggled to pay his debts in recent years after his financial empire crumbled following his arrest in 2003 on child molestation charges. A jury later acquitted him and he hasn't lived at Neverland for the past two years.
Jackson's attorney, L. Londell McMillan, declined to comment to The Associated Press on Sunday. A call by the AP to Colony Capital was referred to a public relations firm.
Jackson bought the property in 1988 and turned it into a miniature amusement park with rides, including a merry-go-round, Ferris wheel and roller coaster, and a zoo.

Palms musical Bermuda Triangle?

The Palms studio is becoming the place of choice for artists with epic unfinished projects to waste the hours. Rumors that for months Michael Jackson was holed up at the Palms studio working on a new disc have resulted in no title or release date. And fellow '80s memory Axl Rose went to Palms studio supposedly to put finishing touches on the still unreleased Guns & Roses comeback "Chinese Democracy." Again, the disc is not in stores, and don't hold your breath.
Now comes a report that Britney Spears has been meeting with old friend Palms' owner George Maloof about a summer performance at the Palms Pearl venue. Michael Jackson, Axl Rose and Britney Spears. Is My Bloody Valentine finishing the new one there too?
Anyway, my guess is that none of these projects will see the light soon. But it is impressive that Maloof manages to keep his property the subject of endless celebrity buzz, especially with stars whose own careers seem forever lost in space.
Of course, even Maloof has his limits. After O.J. Simpson's Palace Station memorabilia mission resulted in police coming for the former football star at his Palms Suite, Maloof let it be known that Simpson was no longer welcome at Palms.

Mentionings:
25 artists who influenced Gary V's life and career

...11. MICHAEL JACKSON — Usher and Justine are just two of many who have included a touch of Michael in their performances. It’s like the two best learning from the very best.
12. CHICAGO — I grew up with their music, I will grow old and grey with their music as well.
13. QUINCY JONES — James Ingram was the voice behind the hit Just Once but it was producer Quincy Jones that put it all together. One artist I truly respect. He was also highly responsible for producing one of the biggest selling albums of all time, Michael Jackson’s Thriller album...

People always told me be careful of what you do
And don't go around breaking young girls' hearts
And mother always told me be careful of who you love
And be careful of what you do 'cause the lie becomes the truth

Students present third annual Bulldog Review

Monday, May 12, 2008 2:32 PM CDT
Music ranging from Michael Jackson's "Thriller" to Hannah Montana's "I've Got Nerve," was performed at the third annual Bulldog Review recently.

The Bulldog Review is a variety show that showcases the talent in Muldrow. There were over 20 acts this year. These acts were a combination of individual and groups acts in the form of singing, dancing, skits, instrumentals, and drama, Nick Jones, Teens Energetically Empowering Neighborhoods (TEEN) Coalition co-coordinator, said.

The TEEN Coalition members who hosted the show performed the opening and closing acts with musical numbers such as "High School Musical 2: All for One" and "Thriller."

"The classic Michael Jackson's pop song mixed with the theatrical make-up by the TEEN Coalition resulted in a exhilarating performance," Rachel Hill said.

"When we opened, it felt like we were at the beach, and when the night ended, I think we brought memories back from the 1980s. The members worked hard and they pulled off a good show," Jones said.

"I felt as if I was in a Broadway show. I saw amazing performances from everybody on stage, including my friends. I totally want to be Lyndsay Tabor's manager. Hollywood here we come," Abby Doubrava said.
"It was challenging trying to get everything in at the last minute, but the show turned out to be a great success, and everyone just did their best," Jennie Barnes, TEEN Coalition choreographer, said.

All the proceeds from the Bulldog Review will be donated to the American Cancer Society, Jones said.

‘They’d Be 100 Percent Wrong’

...Logic, though, often goes out the window when you’re in the public eye. Most of us have no problem calling Britney Spears a train wreck, even though we’ve never met her. We’ve never come anywhere near Michael Jackson, yet are still quick to label him as a freak. We form “educated” opinions on presidential candidates, usually based almost entirely on 15-second news clips...http://www.blueandgold.com/content/?aid=5410

Gary Valenciano Lists Michael As An Influence

(13-5-2008) Famed Filipino musician Gary Valenciano will be releasing a new album titled 'Rebirth' on May 14, 2008 in the USA in celebration of his twenty-five years in show business. In a recent interview with The Philippine Star he was asked to write a list of 25 artists who have influenced his life and career most. He listed many popular artists such as Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, Al Jarreau, and Sting. Of course Michael Jackson was also on the list at #11:

“Michael Jackson — Usher and Justin(e) are just two of many who have included a touch of Michael in their performances. It’s like the two best learning from the very best.”
