MESSAGES TO THE ESTATE

message to the Estate:
A new John Lennon box set focusing on his most political era will be released on Oct. 10, one day after what would have been his 85th birthday.

The 12-disc Power to the People collects Lennon's early New York City period with Yoko Ono and the Plastic Ono Band, which included 1972's live Some Time in New York City album plus the One to One Concerts at Madison Square Garden, Lennon's only full live performances after his split from the Beatles.

The 123-track box features 90 previously unreleased cuts that document Lennon's most political period.

So, people already own 27% of it?

I wonder if they're gonna pull some nonsense like overdubs or autotune, or whether they will be genuine concerts?

So, what exactly is CD1? Looks like it's just a compilation of recordings from CD2 and CD3?! Looks like pointlessly padding the number of discs to me.

The Beatles' landmark Anthology series is getting a massive three-pronged rerelease this fall with an expanded documentary series, music compilation and book.

You can see the Anthology 2025 announcement video and full track listing below. The collection is available to preorder in various configurations now.

How to celebrate a 30th anniversary properly:
The Beatles Anthology, a retrospective multimedia project that included a documentary film, album, and book, is being reissued in super-sized form this fall.
The eight-part doc, originally released in 1995, will celebrate its 30th anniversary exclusively on Disney+ when it hits the streamer on November 26th.
The musical part of the project, The Anthology Collection, is also being expanded. Originally released across three double albums of rare tracks curated by George Martin, this reissue will arrive with a new fourth album, Anthology 4. Curated and restored by Giles Martin, the fourth set of music includes 13 previously unreleased demos, session recordings, and rare tunes. It will also boast new mixes of the Grammy-winning “Free As A Bird” and “Real Love,” both refreshed by their original producer, Jeff Lynne, using “de-mixed” Lennon vocals.
