Yeah, I think that was round about the same time as CinemaCon last year, iirc. There was a lot of fuss bc people thought it was a good sign.

We just have to 'Keep The Faith', I guess! :)
 
I haven't seen nothing about frank delio in the film & he was with Michael everywhere in the 80s just like bill

I don't think Janet or Randy will be vital characters, I'm sure they will be characterized in the background or within shots, either very minimal dialogue or nothing at all, mainly just referencing them throughout the movie, this is mainly due to Janet/Randys feud with the estate, and also the biopic deciding to use Latoya as the main sister for Michael

i just kinda think it was more so about the tone and attention they were giving the allegations, i dont think lionsgate really asked them to remove the allegations, they probably got scared and asked them to not put that much focus on the allegations bc according to what was said, the 93 case was a huge part of the movie, it starts with the 93 case being the first part and the whole 3rd act is about the 93 case, so lionsgate most likely told them to calm it down

that being said recently i posted something about a source close to the production that denied both claims about the alleged chandler deal and the cascio thing, so realistically nothing huge is going on behind the scenes, just mainly speculations from fans and also the media lying and blowing everything outta proportion

Those puck reports were false as some of us thought initially. Pretty sure all that will happen is just the father being portrayed for extorting Michael with no mention about the family itself beyond that

Making such significant changes to the movie would surely require a lot of input into what was already filmed, thus considerably raising the cost of the movie. Does that even make sense??

Damn... If it turns out they wasted this opportunity for a final countdown with the Chandlers, there will likely never be another!!

There's no reliable reports about the Allegations being the third act, those claims were refused by Lionsgate

Same...I know the allegations were made and they have to put it in there but there are so many other things you could focus on and I hope they will do that... can't even read the word "allegation" no more, it will never end :cautious:

The part in bold came from Dan Reed. Do we just blindly trust Dan Reed on that? I know I don't... Of course he would want the allegations to be the main focus of the biopic, but why would they be? The allegations might have been the most important thing that ever happened in Evan Chandler's life, but they were not the main thing in the King of Pop's life, Michael had a lot more going on.

The general public sees Michael as a top-class entertainer who was very troubled at best, a monster at worst. That’s why it’s critical and at the forefront of fans; this is the biggest opportunity to disperse the truth, to finally unlink the allegations from his name, for it to finally end. Michael was the victim, and ultimately a resilient survivor.

We as fans know Michael was one of the most positive souls (from his friends and those who worked with him); it’s time the public finally learns the same and it’s no longer a hidden secret.

I was very lucky to of been around for most of the tours, went to the world music awards etc but I want to see Jaafar portray the real Michael, the shy when around strangers, the fun loving around family and friends and the shrewd when in business. Kind of how Rami did with Freddie. I want this to remind why Michael was the best and that there will never ever be another Michael Jackson King of Pop!

I don't think so, it'll focus largely on the allegations.

My only concern is they might reduce Michael to a performing artist only, ignoring his unique work ethic and his songwriting/composing skills.

I hope so, but my guess is, people want to believe what they want to believe and a movie won't change that. But I hope you are right and some people might change their minds...just wish it's not overshadowing other topics in the film.
 
The only thing we know to be 100% true is that people have seen a teaser and were blown away. That was as filming was wrapping up.

Now they've had even more time to perfect it etc I'm expecting to be blown away when the teaser/trailer drops. Everything else is just noise that's not worth attention imo.

I really hope they focus on songs like "Childhood". As MJ said himself, that is how best to understand him.
 
All you have to do is change the names of the accuser and his family in the biopic (like MJ did with DS song). Instead Of Jordan Chandler, he can now become Gordon Blander haha. This removes liability. You can still tell what happened, just under a different character. Not sure why it would be such a huge deal (if the re shoot story is real).

I have a feeling we will know for sure soon. Early October will be 6 months away in early April.

One thousand percent, great pull; that would be an incredible song to integrate into a Neverland montage or the like. Would be equally as powerful in showing his true innocence as the allegation/extortion scenes.

It could be a really poignant ending. I really think the film shouldn't have a happy ending - I've always thought it should really lean into the triumph of how much of a miracle it was MJ was who he was and achieved what he did with what happened to him.

It's a tragedy, really. The 'happy go lucky' genius Moonwalker ending doesn't do any service to the story imo.

You may very well be right.

But it's also possible the settlement had language barring certain details and aspects of the accusations from ever being depicted or described in any way in any medium.

We just have no way of knowing how strict certain aspects of the settlement were. The reshoots may be as simple as a name change, or it could be something more substantial.

You're cooking; I just got goosebumps imagining that as the final track. That's the sad truth; I think that's why fans can be so passionate for his defense: for a lot of his life, it was just not fair in the worst of ways. That would be the kind of scene that would have the theater quiet as the credits roll.
 
I don't think the accusers were being portrayed with their real names in the first place.. It's probably some other part of the agreement being violated ( if it is factual in the first place)

Hmm 'Childhood' is already a story in itself, I think putting it in another story would be too much
 
I also don't expect new music tbh, Hollywood movies are made for the general public and not for fans..
(Although I of course hope Fuqua did manage to squeeze something novel in)
 
My Exclusive Report says: The film will replace all drumming by Jonathan Moffet with newly recorded drumming by Miles Teller, with co assistance from J.K. Simmons.

The film will also forgo the original versions of the Thriller songs whenever possible, instead opting to use the Thriller 25 Anniversary Edition Remixes of Billie Jean, Beat It, P.Y.T, The Girl Is Mine, and Wanna Be Startin' Somethin with all original composers returning. Thank you Kanye.

Mmm. I wonder if Jack Gordon will be in as well. Or La Toya's story in general. But yeah, I don't think we'll see Janet but she has such a cool and sad story that could be told as well. Everyone in that family deserved a movie lol
